When kind people took the stray cat to safety, it turned out they were also rescuing four tiny kittens.

A good Samaritan came across a stray cat limping along the road with an injured leg and immediately stopped to check on it.
The exhausted cat did not flee when the rescuer approached, but instead appeared to be waiting for help. The cat was relieved to be found and leaned forward in the rescuer’s arms. The finder immediately realised the severity of the cat’s injuries and contacted a local rescue group for help.
Despite being fully booked, Chatons Orphelins in Montreal did not hesitate to take in the cat and provide him with immediate medical treatment.

The cat, who we have named Charala, has been left untreated and living with her wounds for some time. She has lost two toes on her right paw, the rescue group said.
Combined with other injuries they found, they suspected the cat had been in a road accident. “She was incredibly calm and let us care for her throughout the procedure without any fuss.”

After the wound on her leg was cleaned and dressed, Charala seemed to feel much better, blinking slowly at her owner and filling the room with the sound of her purring.
She had likely been outside for a while and had been eating whatever food she could get her hands on. “Her stomach was full of strange things.” She was starving and had tried everything she could to stave off her hunger and survive.

To everyone’s surprise, Charala was not only eating her own share, but also that of her four kittens. After a test, it was discovered that she was pregnant. “She’s small for a five-year-old cat. She loves to be held. She’s hungry, so when it’s time to eat, she pounces on the food,” said the owner.
Thanks to a loving foster home and endless food, Charala recovered and began to gain much needed weight.

Once the bandages were removed, Charala started walking around as if nothing had happened. She had made an amazing recovery and her belly was full. “Even though she lost two toes, she can now walk normally. She has regained her strength and is in great spirits.”
Charala explored the cozy room and sat comfortably on the bed as if to give it her stamp of approval.

She tried out every single nest and box prepared for her on her big day, and the moment she heard her foster mom’s voice she perked up and made a beeline for attention and petting.

“Charala gave birth (to four kittens) quietly in a cat litter box (filled with paper cat litter), even though she had a comfortable nest and plenty of boxes to choose from.”
The kittens were all tiny look-alikes of their mother. Charala felt safe knowing that their foster parents were nearby, making sure the kittens were warm and fed. After a few hours, the kittens had already gained weight.

Charala seems so happy to have a roof over her head, kind humans to ensure her kittens are safe and all their needs are met.
