Two kittens were found outside as bond pairs. One has learned to walk in a special way, the other is brave.

Last month, a good Samaritan who cared about cats in the community noticed that he was following two small kittens around.
His front legs went a little inward, a slightly different way. His sister chased after him and found comfort in front of him. From the beginning, it was clear that they shared an indivisible bond.
Jamie, a foster parent volunteer with baby kitten rescue, when she heard about the pair, she didn’t hesitate to take them both.

Even his slightly bent legs, the black and white kitten, Hershey, walked around easily, making sure nothing was blocking him.
His sister, Lady, was ti-sick and thin, constantly retreating with each approach. “Both Lady and Hershey are not social. They’re not painful at all and shy, so I know it won’t take us that long for them to become best friends,” Jamie shared.

After adapting to indoor routines for a few days, they were treated to a natural spa day to wash away dirt from the streets. Slowly, but certainly, they warmed to the comforts of the home, especially Hershey.
He soon realized that pets and hugs were the balm of his soul, and that they could always find their endless supply in Jamie’s lap.

The more the two became more modest, the more gentle encouragement and extra time that helped her build trust.
When she got sick, she lost her appetite and needed supportive care to get her health back on track. “This is exactly why we are quarantined for two weeks because we usually see the disease present during this time.”

The lady was cared for 24 hours and was raised with a syringe to help her regain her strength.
With all the special attention and TLC, she bouncing back and returning to her playful self. Soon she realized that human touch had nothing to fear. Gradually, her walls began to roll.

With the help of experts, they discovered that there were no abnormalities in the bone structure of Hershey’s legs. “It appears to have some rotation in the wrist joints, and the wrist holds the bow outside.”
To strengthen his legs, Jamie incorporates exercise into his daily life. “He walks, plays, uses the trash can. He lives a completely normal life. His feet are a bit whimsical.”
Jamie
“The woman has come a long way towards socializing her. She lies next to me, and even plays around me. Most of my socialization in the first week was sitting in a playpen with Hershey and the Lady, giving them treats.
The lady now runs through to say hello to her foster mom when she enters, and she finds her charming little puller.

Jamie invites her friends to spend time with the kittens and gives them extra affection.
“They need to have as many positive interactions as possible. This helps them to be more confident and hugged as they age. Some kittens take longer than others to trust, and that’s fine.”
Jamie
“When Hershey and the Lady first came to me, they were scared and skittish. Within just a few weeks, they were completely out of the shell. The best way to get their little puller motor is to have a chin scar.”
“Shy is shy at first, but it doesn’t take long to gain trust. Hershey loves to sit on raps, and is more outgoing and sociable. Together, they are the sweetest kittens.”
