Kind people went to rescue the cat, but they couldn’t leave behind his feline friends who supported him every step of the way.

Gianna Cirucci, co-founder of Foster the Furbabies, was faced with rescue calls for adoption of cats who needed special care beyond the shelter’s capacity.
“His hind legs were missing and we didn’t know exactly what had happened. We have helped many disabled cats in the past so we felt we needed to help this one too,” Janna told Love Meow.
When she contacted the shelter and offered to adopt a cat named Arthur, it quickly became clear that he came with a feline companion.

“They wanted to know if we would take her too, and I couldn’t say no, especially since they sent me a video of them cleaning each other up.”
Arthur and his sister Muffy arrived with more problems than expected. The initial plan was to perform surgery on Arthur’s hind legs to improve his quality of life, but after a vet visit, they both began treatment for pneumonia.

Arthur remained in a cast until he was well enough to undergo surgery. During that time, an injury was discovered in one of his front paws that was beginning to heal on its own. Despite all the hardships he had endured, Arthur never stopped loving life and continued to muster the strength to move his body.
His best friend, Muffy, was always by his side, snuggling and grooming him like a guardian.

“They’re both really sweet. Muffy was a little shy at first but Arthur helped her come out of her shell and showed her that humans aren’t so scary. Muffy really trusted me as soon as I brought him over.”
Arthur is brave and adventurous, and remains unfazed despite having a cast on his leg.

Muffy has been by Arthur’s side, providing love and comfort through everything and helping him get through many challenges. “Muffy has been a huge support to Arthur. I can’t imagine how sad Arthur would have been if we hadn’t taken his sister from the shelter that day.”
They spend the whole day snuggled up together with their legs tenderly intertwined.

“I’ve fostered hundreds of kittens and I’ve never seen two cats that get along so well. They love to be petted, especially their bellies.”
Whenever Janna comes into the room, Arthur jumps up and circles around her legs, demanding her immediate attention, and Muffy follows suit, jumping up on her hind legs and rubbing her face against her foster mom.

“Despite everything they’ve been through, they’re just so sweet and loving.”
Thanks to excellent care, good food and each other’s comfort, Arthur and Muffy are on the mend. They never have to worry about tomorrow, as kind humans are making their future bright and full of love.

Janna is always amazed at the unbreakable bond between them. Arthur and Muffy get along so well, it’s as if they instinctively know each other’s thoughts and needs.
They’ve been through so much together and can now focus on recovering in caring foster homes.

A few weeks ago, Gianna set out to rescue one cat, but ended up adopting two. They are inseparable and thriving together, helping each other along the way. It’s the most beautiful outcome you could imagine.
