A stray cat approached a kind stranger and soon filled the house with similar “sky” kittens.

When the Be Their Voice Animal Rescue (BTV) volunteer went to pick up the cat, another friendly stray cat came around the corner and walked right up to her.
“We found out that the cat was pregnant and very thin,” Amy, BTV’s chief operating officer, told Love Meow. She didn’t have a home to call her own, so volunteers scooped her up and took her to her first veterinary appointment.
“We were watching the baby because we thought she was going to give birth soon.”

An adorable “house leopard” named Jazz inspected his new room, stopping only to rub against the furniture. Finding everything to her liking, she wrapped herself around her adoptive mother’s legs and purred in gratitude.
Jazz was very thin, but in good health and grateful for the constant supply of food. She took the time to feast and regain her strength, making up for her hungry and tired days on the road.

“She ended up giving birth in the middle of the night and unfortunately she didn’t know what she was doing.”
Although Jazz could choose a comfortable nesting box, she decided to put her eight kittens in the litter box. Thankfully, her foster parents sprang into action and cleaned each baby one by one, making sure they were all latched.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to save everyone, we lost two kittens. Jazz’s maternal instincts kicked in for the remaining six children, and they began to grow up quickly. “We had three boys and three girls, so we gave them jazz-inspired names: Duke, Miles, Billy, Elliot, Clara and Lena.”
“Jazz didn’t know what to do at first, but eventually she got the hang of it and became a helicopter mom.”

Amy, who has a number of “empty” kittens, joked that Jazz was just a lot of copy and pasting.
Over the next few weeks, the kittens grew by leaps and bounds, reached many milestones, discovered a penchant for mischief, and ran around with boisterous energy.

Once the kittens were weaned and independent, Jazz started spending more time doing the things she loved. “She’s ready to finish her motherhood experience.”
Jazz started having breathing problems and needed more care than expected. With proper treatment, she regained her health and the babies grew up under the loving care of their foster parents.

All “Boyd” grew into beautiful house leopards, just like their mother. They tear through the place, moving in and out of sight like ninjas.
When he gets tired of playing, he cuddles in a puddle by the window and soaks up the warm sunlight.

“I know that Jazz did a great job raising her baby (her last litter) and has been enjoying exploring her foster home and meeting the native cats,” said her foster mother. Jen told Love Meow.
“Miles has the makings of a Velcro kitten and is as playful as he is cute. Duke will keep you on guard with his antics. Billie is the smallest and bravest and is the Alpha of her litter.”

“Lena can get rowdy with her friends and is a bit of a hamster. Clara is the beauty queen of the group. Elliot is the biggest and pretty goofy guy.”
They are finally ready for the next chapter: their forever home.
