This week’s visit to Therapy Cat allowed me to visit my live friends! If you’re wondering how you can go out now in Los Angeles, don’t worry. Things are completely calm here, with all the focus being in the six blocks of downtown area. There are some big overreactions about what’s going on here and that’s all I say.
My visit started with one of my regulars. She was sitting on the sofa near the door in her wonderful room and she was so happy to meet me! Of course we visited with her. I think she cried a little and was so happy that I was there.
Another of my regulars came along with her walker while I visited her. She remembers me by her name, but it’s really hard for my people to understand her. But the important part was that I had to spend time with her.
The staff took me to many residents and took photos. One woman continued to insist that she didn’t want to take a photo. And she was fine with the photo taken. And she remembered that she didn’t want to take a picture!
A few of my regulars were missing that day. However, I saw a nonverbal woman with heavy hands and spent a lot of time on the couch with her. I also saw this guy who was there for several years. He used to be more present, but today he seemed a little vague and I had to remember that I was there.
My other patron, a very elderly woman, was taking a nap on the couch, and she woke up in time to visit. At first, she woke up so I didn’t know what was going on, but then she realized I was there and she started to stay still and said she loved me.
One of my most entertaining visits was with this Latin guy who didn’t pay much attention to me, but I think I liked me. I sat next to him, the staff took a photo and she started laughing! She showed me my human, and both the man and I had the same serious expressions.
When we left we came across one of my regulars who came to a great room. So we spent a few minutes on our way out.
It was a good visit and very peaceful.
