A little kitten who was begging for help on the road ended up getting all his wishes granted.

About two months ago, a good Samaritan spotted a tiny kitten crawling along the side of the road and stopped to help.
When the kitten saw the person coming towards him, it started shrieking and slowly crawled towards him. “He was lucky someone noticed and jumped in to help him,” cat conservationist Ellen Carozza told Love Meow.
“From the beginning, she was a very sweet kitten who just wanted to be helped.”

The kitten, named Poppy, was emaciated, covered in mites, had an upset stomach and a broken front leg. Local animal rescue group To The ResQ rescued Poppy and provided her with immediate medical care, but realized the kitten needed more help.
They contacted Ellen from the Chris Griffey Memorial Cat Foundation (CGMFF), which is dedicated to rescuing kittens in the most critical situations.

Although it was unclear how Poppy ended up on this journey with a broken leg, they knew her life from now on would be filled with love and comfort, and without hesitation, Ellen took Poppy under her wing.
She gave her a thorough bath and made new splints for her front legs.

Ellen and her team began the same treatment regimen they had given to another kitten who had also broken her front leg, and after a few days of careful care, Poppy gained much needed weight and strength.
She loved being brushed and wrapped in towels, and couldn’t wait to get to play like a kitten again.

She didn’t seem to mind the splint at all. She was lying on her back with her stomach exposed.
After a week of treatment, the doctors noticed that Poppy’s leg was healing well and gave her some time to play with other kittens. Poppy won the hearts of everyone she met, including her fellow cat friends.

Because she was healing so quickly, the splint no longer stopped her shenanigans. Another week passed. “She decided she couldn’t take it anymore and asked to have the splint removed.”
Poppy once expertly removed her braces and acted as if nothing had happened.

Poppy crawled around on all fours and even did a perfect meerkat imitation when Ellen asked her what happened to her braces. Poppy is on the way to a full recovery and could not contain her joy and excitement at being able to move around freely again.
Once the splints were removed, her playful and mischievous personality emerged.

Poppy decided to jump into a box of new pee pads and take a nap there instead of her comfy bed, and she “helped out” by quickly jumping into a laundry basket filled with new, warm clothes.
She climbed to the top of the cat tree and lay on the largest platform, belly up and toes up, like a ballerina.
Ellen Carrozza
“Poppy loves to play, climb and just be a normal kitten. We are so proud of how well she has recovered.”
Poppy has been through some tough times and is finally back on her feet and ready to move on. She was hoping for a forever home with a loving family and feline friends, and it turns out that family was waiting for her.

While Poppy recovered, her previous foster parents were looking for a companion for her cat, Finnegan (a CGMFF alumnus).
She was captivated by Poppy and her fearless attitude and knew she would be the perfect fit for her family.

Time has passed, and Poppy has now grown into a playful, active young cat who is unfazed by anything.
She is now with her loving family in her new home, and her dream has come true.
