The strong-minded little kitten befriended every cat and dog she met, jumping on them as if she were a much bigger person.

Barry the tuxedo kitten was just a few days old and had already given up some of his nine lives. After being found outside and brought to the local humane society, Barry’s spirit never wavered despite the setbacks.
Thanks to special bottle-feeding, he grew into a healthy kitten with bright eyes and big ears, and once he was strong enough he began to move around on his little legs.
At 3.5 weeks old, he arrived at his new foster home for socialization and was always eager to find someone to play with.

“From an early age, Barry has loved to play with himself and would often lie on his back and swing his little legs in the air. He also loves to wrestle with any stuffed toys I bring him,” Barry’s foster parent, Chris Kaiser, told Love Meow.
He rolled onto his back and looked very happy, showing everyone his round belly.

As he grew in size and strength, he became a ball of energy with an unstoppable attitude: “[He]ran faster than his legs could keep up. He does a lot of wild, silly things.”
When Barry graduated from the playpen to explore other parts of the house, he met the family cat, Uncle Calvin, who he trotted up to and tried to assert dominance over, even though Calvin was much smaller than him.

“Uncle Calvin taught the kitten the rules of proper dress and how to be a proper gentleman. I think Uncle Calvin was amused by the way the kitten pranced around and acted all messy.”
Barry was small in stature but utterly fearless, with a huge attitude to match his energy: “He’s always jumping up and down for the camera and he likes to show off.”

When his foster mom took him to work, he met a puppy named Jellybean and the two began wrestling despite the size difference.
After a few brief, supervised play sessions, he raced around the office like a furry tornado, leaping over the furniture and claiming everything he came into contact with.

After running through there, he smacked his stuffed animal and interrupted it with a nap.
Once Barry was fully weaned, it was time for him to join the cat family. “Kittens learn a lot from each other and we wanted to give Barry the opportunity.”

Chris contacted The Bond Between, a rescue centre, and found a group of slightly older kittens in a different foster home. “As soon as Barry met the other kittens, we could see he was so happy,” he said.
Barry quickly settled in and began playing with his feline friend as if they’d always been brothers.

Brave and confident, he approached his foster siblings to kiss their noses and boldly pounce on their tails to play.
The other kittens were a little surprised by his unbridled energy, but quickly accepted him as one of their own.

“This is what he needed. This has been my goal for him since I brought him home at 3.5 weeks old. He now has four super cute playmates for the next 3-4 weeks before he is adopted.”
