They welcomed a very shy young cat into the house. When they saw her glow it turned out to be the best decision.

The couple seized a chance at a ti-sick kitten at the adoption center, but they turned out to be the perfect match.
Beautiful Carico Hetty arrives at Battersea’s dog and cat home, hoping for a better chance of life. “She came to us as a lost kitten abandoned in Hetty’s Hoover Box (vacuum cleaner box).
“When she first arrived, she was a very worried girl.”

Overwhelmed by the new environment, Hetty is naturally scared, seeking evacuation in a quiet corner. She was sensitive to noise, so it took her time to adjust. “A loud or sudden sound will surprise her.”
“But with some time and patience, Hetty began to build a lovely bond with human caregivers.”

She emerged from hiding, as she realized the staff was going well. She began to gently draw attention, even calling the courage to climb into a warm rap for a head squish.
As she became more comfortable, her playful side began to emerge. “She especially likes string toys, carrying them around in her mouth or carrying a ‘rabbit kick’. ”

Hetty was still wary of change, but the relief from her caregivers prepared her for her next chapter. “We knew she would go from strength to strength in a proper loving home. She just had to spend some time with an understanding family.”
Meanwhile, Katie and her partner were looking for a cat companion to join their new home.

“We recently bought our first home and we knew there was something missing from making it our home,” Katie shared.
They were engrossed in Hetty and patiently waited to take her home while recovering from castration. “It was love at first sight. The amazing staff at Battersea warned us that Hetty was very ti-sick and scared, making us realize that she wouldn’t be completely out of the shell because of her past.”

Not deterred, they were committed to giving Hetty a loving home. They addressed every challenge that came on their path and were ready to ensure that Hetty lead the safe and happy life she deserves.
Since that day, Hetty has transformed into the cat of the dream they have always wanted.

In a loving house with the doting humans, Hetty’s true personality has blossomed. “She was very confident and affectionate about her new environment. She loves her hugs, her toys and of course her treat.”
She enjoys sitting on her father’s shoulders and watches him work on his laptop like the perfect little supervisor.

She holds her tail high and thrusts around the house. There is no longer a hidden and invisible era. She is now willingly curled up in human wrap, immersing all her love. “She made us so happy and we feel so lucky to have found her.
“She has the cutest heart shape on the pads on her legs. She left a print in our hearts, so I think it’s very special.”

Thanks to Battersea’s dedicated staff, once ti-sick wandering turned into a fun and playful love bug, thriving with the man she worships where she can call herself.
