Animal rescuer Sam was caring for a herd of cats when he noticed a gray kitten with an injured lip. She quickly sprang into action and took the little man to safety.
The kitten had a foul odor coming from its mouth and was in dire need of medical attention. Andrea Christian, a fellow animal rescuer and foster parent, responded to the call for help and adopted the kitten, named Sawyer, into her rescue.
After weeks of walking around town, Sawyer takes his first steps home.

He climbed into his adoptive mother’s arms and hugged her, feeling like he was finally home. His kind nature and zest for life quickly won over everyone in the house.
“I contacted a friend of mine who volunteers with a local rescue organization (AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue). She immediately came up with a plan and carried it out,” Andrea said.

They arranged for surgery to repair Sawyer’s lip. Immediately he stood up and eagerly ate his snack. Eventually he started playing and running as if nothing had happened.
Even with a cone, Sawyer did not let anything slow him down and continued his endless adventures.

He was always cheerful, always busy, and always up to mischief.
Spotting another playpen set up for another kitten, she quickly climbed onto the top of the enclosure and marched along the edge to look around the room. Excited about his new life and fearless, this little guy was happy to live, cone or not.

As soon as his adoptive mother sat down, he climbed into her lap and snuggled close to her.
Once freed from the cone, he gleefully rolled around on the floor, struggling with anything he could get on his feet. The seams were covered with buttons to protect the skin, but he didn’t mind it. “He was the best little patient.”

After about two weeks in foster care, Sawyer made a full recovery and developed a sense of adventure. He climbed cat trees, jumped on window sills, and snuggled into the hearts of everyone he met.
“Words cannot describe how cheerful, silly, loving and easy-going this beautiful boy has become. He is a dream boy.”

Sawyer loves all his toys, but his favorite is the purple porcupine rat, which he carries with him everywhere. “Sawyer and Sprinkle Mouse are a close-knit pair. He is the kitten’s greatest love and is very well behaved.”
“He loves toys, but what he loves most is people. He enjoys their company, warm laps, and gentle petting.”

Sawyer has grown into a happy, playful, plump young cat. He is always upbeat and never misses a chance to hang out with humans.
“He’s a little guy with a big heart. Full of curiosity and love. He’s the type to explore every nook and cranny. He’s gentle and friendly and always greets you with a soft purr and a playful paw. i am ready.”
