On her way home, Emily Lacovan spotted an orange cat silhouette in front of a car store.
As the founder of Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue, she didn’t hesitate to stop the car to check on her cat. “He was sitting on the car next to the very busy street. I wanted to see if he was OK, so I served him food,” Emily shared.
Although people are wary of skittishes, the cat with crumpled ears could not resist the offer.

Orange Lost has led Emily to discover a large colony of cats. However, the original cat remained elusive and skillfully avoided all humane traps.
Deciding to save him, Emily came back every night to feed him, admiring him from afar. In the end, he was waiting for her.

“After a few weeks of unsuccessful attempts, we finally caught him. Despite being terrified at first, he had eaten treats from me and wanted to be careful friends.”
The cat Leo had a rough shape with cauliflower ears from repeated infections. He had many teeth and injured legs, and his skin was in poor condition. That night he was able to rest a little easier in his new bed away from the street.

After all the Leo was fixed, he felt brand new and sparkle in his eyes. He began exploring his surroundings, becoming increasingly interested in the people around him. “He had to pull a decent number of teeth (now free from the pain), and his personality really blossomed.”
“After meeting each other for a few weeks, he was the first time he leaned over his pet. He became such a love bug.”

“I didn’t know if he would warm up to people in the first few weeks I had him, but then everything changed and he became the sweetest and loving boy.
That was a surprising difference from how ti-ill he was on the street. Now he is eager to love and blends into every gentle touch.

“When he gets warm, he loves nothing but getting his pet and playing with his cane toys.”
Leo came to cuddle Emily and showed that he wasn’t for living outside. He couldn’t protect himself. It explained many of his wounds. Despite his endurance, he remained kind and sweet with the other cats.

A few weeks passed without a single application when Leo was finally ready for adoption. “Sometimes, it’s destiny at work. Leo (finally) received a great application and they fell in love with him at the competition.”
A month ago, Leo, now Teddy, moved into his new home. For weeks, he came out of his shell and claimed every corner of his kingdom.

Teddy fully embraced the lion on his inner side, roaming the house with confidence, offering a hug to those in need. He loves to play with cane toys and skillfully catches them with his big feet.
He thrives with his beloved human mother and her two roommates (auntie).

Teddy’s charming smile came back as his dream came true.
When he isn’t cuddled with his people, he enjoys the suffocating company of little dinosaurs. He also has a new cat sister, Birdie, who is getting to know him.

After surviving the city for years, Teddy has finally experienced family love, with his heart of gold, where he can call his forever home.
