The kind neighbor was not about to leave the abandoned cat alone. Shortly after bringing the cat into her home, she gave birth to a kitten.
Clara and her kittensBest Friends Cat
A few weeks ago, a family moved and left a cat behind. A neighbor noticed the cat wandering around looking for food and started feeding it.
They posted the cat on a lost and found page to see if anyone had lost it, but to no avail. After caring for the cat for a few weeks, they took it to a vet’s office, where they found no microchip and discovered that the cat was pregnant.
“They were planning on moving themselves and didn’t want to leave her to fend for herself so they asked for help,” Nikki, from Best Friends Fairies, said.

Nikki and her team took the cat into their care, lovingly naming her Clara, and placed her in a foster home where they provided her with plenty of soft foods to keep her calm and an all-you-can-eat buffet to satisfy her voracious appetite.
Clara was grateful for the arrangement and rubbed against her owner as if to say thank you. “She’s very affectionate and loves people.”

Knowing that Clara needed to regain her strength for the upcoming birth of her baby, the foster volunteers spent plenty of time throughout the day refilling her bowl and reassuring her that she was loved.
After weeks outside, Clara was relieved to have a roof over her head. She plopped down on the blankets, exposing her round belly and letting her soothing purring fill the room.

“She’ll have a great time chatting with you and giving you the best head bops.”
Pregnant women thought they had a week or two left before the baby was born, but Clara clearly had other plans. Not long after she had settled in, a caregiver came into the room, much to her surprise.

“She gave birth and welcomed six beautiful babies into the world. She was so calm, collected and collected.”
Mama Clara has five girls and one boy (a redhead) and she quickly got to work on her motherly duties, with all six kittens latching onto her belly and happily suckling.

Clara is as chatty as ever, meowing loudly whenever the caretaker enters the room. She allows the caretaker to weigh the kittens under her supervision and hopes that they will return soon.
“I hold the bees every day and when Clara has had enough, she gently removes them from me and returns them to their hive.”

In just one week, the kittens’ bellies have become round and some of their eyes have started to open.
The kittens snuggle up close and personal with their mother in between meals and potty breaks, and as soon as the kittens start to meow, Clara rushes back to the nest to tend to them and shower them with unconditional love.

Clara watches with pride as her babies (Mae, Avanna, Juliana, Gayle, Iggy and Eme) begin their early years. She watches them grow with each step and makes sure they don’t get too far away.
Clara spends her days soaking up the sun and nurturing and cuddling her kittens without having to worry about food or shelter.

Thanks to kind neighbors and rescuers, she never had to get pregnant again after fostering her last kitten.
She is guaranteed a bright and beautiful future and will be cherished.
