The little squeal led people to cats and her cats under the shed, and their lives changed for the better.

Last month, community members heard what sounded like a kitten screaming outside and decided to investigate.
She follows a small squeal, followed the shed, uneasy to discover the cat beneath it and her newborn kitten. Although a little nervous, the mother was sweet and friendly, as if she felt she was being helped.
“Thankfully, the viewfinder was able to craze everything, grab everything and keep it safe in the garage,” shared Heidi Shoemaker, Foster Kitten Mama’s founder.

The rescuers reached out to Heidi for help, and after several days of preparation, the seven family members moved into their foster homes and left the street behind.
“I am very grateful that they are safe and healthy and that their lives will change forever.”

The cat, Angel, was naturally scared, but the soothing voices of her foster parents and lots of delicious food quickly reassured her. She settled in a new nest layered with soft blankets, and six babies nursed in satisfaction.
Two of the kittens carry a beautiful calico mark. The other four are Siamese mixes that are as adorable as moms.

With daily pampering and room service, Angel warmed up to her foster parents and began to look forward to her visit.
Thanks to rescuers, the kitten was safe indoors shortly after birth. Within days of settling in foster care, they had rounded their healthy, round belly and beaten all developmental milestones on schedule.

Leila, a little calico, was a runt of garbage, but what she lacked in size was compensated for with her attitude and grit. Her sister Ariel was also Karico, and mentally the opposite of her. Sweet, gentle, ready to snuggle at all times.
Laila made a fierce decision and often scrambled over the siblings’ mountains to insist on the best nursing spot.

The remaining four kittens resemble baby polar bears. The three (Gabriel, Raphael and Michael) are boys and one (Muriel) is a girl.
At 4 weeks of age, the kitten wanted to get out of the nest and explore. The smallest yet most energetic, Lyra could barely wait. She was already trying to expand the sides of the box herself.

Angel has come a long way since being rescued with her last garbage. Now she hears the foster parents and quickly walks to her head snuggle.
After her cat left the nest, she joined their upgraded space, filled with toys, scratching posts and cozy blankets.

Curious, the kitten explored every corner, sipping water from the bowl and nibbling on her mother’s food. They were fascinated by the training trash and kept their mom on their toes.
After a bit of adjustment, Angel was happy to settle down with her new routine and began playing.

She got hooked on the ball toy from scratcher and played with it so much that she ended up knocking it off. “I’m so happy to see her enjoying herself.”
The angel and her baby are thriving, and every time she takes a moment to herself, she is rediscovering her inner child.

As the kitten grows more independently in the coming weeks, Angel will be closer to becoming the spoiled queen she has always been intended to.
