In impoverished areas overflowing with stray animals, homeless animals are often ignored by humans who are too poor to care for themselves. They lack the resources to help, but in this case, a kind human passing by the pup in need posted a photo of it online and asked for help. DAR Animal Rescue spotted the post and immediately drove over. The puppy was living in a pile of garbage under a park bench. He slept on dirt and garbage. He was filthy, ruthless, and understandably frightened.
When Mr. Ermioni, the founder of DAR, arrived, he looked up at her. He gulped a little and then cried out. His cries were heartbreaking. The pup knew he needed help, but he wasn’t sure if Hermione would provide it. Ermioni put down her camera so I could see her approach the little baby. She held out her hand, hoping this would calm him down. Thankfully, the pup accepted her touch. She soothed him by patting his little head.
The thin puppy tried to stand up, but found it difficult to move. This frightened Hermione. Was his problem because he was hungry and weak, or was it something more? A kind woman took out a blanket from the car. She wrapped the puppy up and carried him back to the car. My baby needed medical intervention and I couldn’t wait.
The puppy was taken to a veterinary hospital. He was covered in ticks and extremely underweight. The rescue group’s goal was to keep the puppies as healthy as possible and hope they found their forever homes. If no one posted on social media, who knows what would have happened?
