Last winter, Zach, a beautiful black kitten, followed by a group that wandered into a women’s patio in search of food.

Worried about their safety, the woman managed to catch them one by one and reached out to her local rescue, Chatton Orferin Montreal, for help. Zack and the rest of the maze were brought to rescue, evading the harsh elements and dangers of the outdoors.

Fearing with hunger, Zack leaned into the corner and tried to decompress. It didn’t take long for his true self to begin to shine.

After receiving the necessary care, the kitten was placed in a foster home where they were able to learn how to become a cat in the right home. Although there was no human contact in advance, the abundant food and love quickly helped his walls descend.

“Zack settled in his foster home, where he met a confident, playful kitten. They showed him the ropes and helped him get out of his shell,” the rescue shared.

He became part of the cat crew, chasing them on all their adventures, and doing his best to suit their endless energy. After moving around like a small whirlwind, they curled together on the cat tree, napping and charging.

“He really embraces a new life indoors. The bed is too small for all kittens, but he finds a way to squeeze it out.”

Within a few weeks, Zack had blossomed into a lively young cat with a lively personality. With the help of a cat friend, he realizes that humans are kind and that they could grow to enjoy their company.

Over time he began to like them. Especially when they played his favorite fetch game.

“He loves hunting toys and proudly carrying them in his mouth. He’s the happiest when he takes the time to play with him.”

Whenever his foster parents throw a toy, he chases it and faithfully reclaims it. He’s incredibly agile and fast, he always drops a toy at her feet and looks up in anticipation of her for the next throw.

He has the adorable habit of “washing” a bit before bringing it home, in order to infuse the toy into a water bowl. When he is satisfied that it is “clean”, he runs around towards his foster mom and wants to repeat the game again.

Zack walks through the house, clutching his toy in his mouth, as if he were showing his most precious award.

“He’s interested in nature and observes everything from afar. But as soon as we sit on the couch, he comes to see what we’re doing and fine-tunes us for the wounds behind the ears.

Above all, Zack is a cat retriever of the heart and never gets bored of winning toys alongside his humans.
