Genevieve, a caring animal rescuer, was helping local stray cats when she came across a cat and its five kittens. One of the kittens, Riley, had prominent long ear tufts.

Determined to save all the kittens, she secured the mother cat and gently scooped up the kittens and took them home. With a roof over their heads, they began to thrive.

Once the kittens were weaned, the mother cat was spayed and found a safe place to be loved and cared for. Four of the kittens were adopted in pairs, so Riley still wanted a home.

Genevieve contacted local animal rescue group Chatons Orphérin Montréal to ask for help with the kitten. Riley needed medical attention and a chance to find a loving home, ideally with friends.

“She had a runny nose and sniffles, but after starting medication, she quickly recovered,” Chatons Orphélins Montreal said.

She was always looking for a companion. Before she was nursed back to health, they gave her a small stuffed animal to keep her company so she wouldn’t feel lonely. She snuggled into it, never taking her eyes off it.

As soon as Riley was socialized enough, she ran up to the other cats and tried to make friends with them all.

When Riley noticed her senior cat lounging on the couch, she jumped up and snuggled next to her, purring up a storm and quickly melting into her embrace.

“She immediately showed her cute and mischievous side. She’s a sweetheart of a kitten.”

Riley was so excited when she discovered another rescue kitten in the house. She ran to them and followed them everywhere. They would jump on the couch and she would literally be on their tails.

The kittens quickly accepted the friendly newcomer and soon began playing with Riley as if he had always been part of the crew.

A cute kitten with long ear tufts is always looking for fun. “She loves being around other cats and humans. When held, she turns into a purring machine, always seeking attention and staying close to us.”

She is interested in what everyone is doing and likes to be where the activities are. “In the evening, she comes close to us and cuddles with the other kittens to sleep.”

Whenever she spots cats sunbathing on the windowsill, she joins them and makes sure they have every bit of her affection when they’re together.

“As soon as we wave the feather duster, she comes running. She loves heights, especially sunbathing by the window with her friends. With her adorable face and white tufts of ears, she… It’s perfect.”

Riley gets along very well with the noisy kittens. After happily running around the house, she curls up with the older cats, napping next to them and soaking in their affection.

“She’s still a baby at heart.”

Riley is thriving in a foster home with lots of love from her human and feline friends.

She arrived with her favorite stuffed animal and has made lots of new friends now that she’s 5 months old. But her love for stuffed animals remains as strong as ever.
