A friendly stray cat showed up at the FDNY station and approached everyone to get their attention. She began wandering the area regularly, returning daily in search of affection.
When word got out about the incredibly adorable tabby dog at the fire station, several caring city workers stepped in to help. They gave her food, water and lots of love.
They affectionately named the cat “Marcella” and her warm greeting was the highlight of the day.

Marcela found joy in a bowl of food and a simple “conversation” with her human friend.
She made herself comfortable in the corner behind the pallet bar, with an office chair that served as a bed. When she saw people, she jumped off her “throne” and wandered around in search of more food.

It was clear that she was not suitable for the street. Concerned for her safety due to the heavy traffic in the area, her caregivers began looking for help through a rescue organization, hoping to place her in a foster home.
Marcela felt safe sitting in an outdoor chair because so many people were taking care of her needs. They hoped to one day upgrade her throne to a cozy sofa in a loving home.

She rolled on the ground and stretched out her legs as if reaching for the stars. Whether she was walking or standing, she kneaded the ground like dough, making a constant rumbling motor noise.
After receiving the rescue call, volunteers at New York City Little Wanderers acted quickly, arranging a veterinarian appointment and securing a foster home for the cat.

It took a village, but Marcela was finally off the streets, spayed, and embarked on a new chapter filled with comfort and love. Once settled in her foster home, her true personality began to shine through.
“She has grown into the most loving and playful girl,” Little Wanderers NYC shared.

“This cat loves belly rubs, cuddling, and making biscuits on a fluffy blanket. She’s the kind of person who enjoys getting close to you and even listens when you talk to her. ,” her foster mother said.
She no longer rolls around on the hard ground outside, but instead lounges on soft rugs and blankets. Lie on your back and she playfully invites you to rub her belly.

After wandering the city for a long time, Marcela is delighted to be treated like royalty. She happily allows humans to tuck her into a blanket and stay close so she is never alone.
“She’s potty trained, well behaved, and never jumps on the counter. She’s very calm and laid back.”

Marcella is the perfect television companion and always enjoys entertaining shows with her humans. She is glued to the screen, eyes wide, ears throbbing, completely captivated by the entertainment.
