The story of an adorable stray cat’s rescue and adoption journey has captured the hearts of many on social media. The Ohio State Highway Patrol recently shared a heartwarming story on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
Justin Smith, one of the division’s members, rescued an injured kitten from the side of Interstate 77 in Stark County. After receiving proper treatment, the kitten was sent to the hospital. Stark County Humane Society. From there, a man decided to adopt the kitten and give her a forever home and family. The cat is now called Lola.
Ohio State Patrol’s quick response successfully rescued and adopted cat
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a driver called the Canton dispatch center to report an injured kitten. A driver found the cat on Aug. 21 on the side of Interstate 77 in Stark County.
As per fox 8the driver said on the phone, “It looks like there’s a live cat.” Officer Justin Smith of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Canton Post then continued the search for the kitten. Smith rescued the cat from a busy highway, constantly reminding the cat that it was okay, and then took him to a police car and took him to safety.
The injured cat was treated at the Stark County Veterinary Emergency Clinic and then taken in and cared for by the Stark County Humane Society. Within the next month after saving the kitten, a man visited the Stark County Humane Society. The man then adopted the little cat and gave her a loving family and a furry home. The adopters also decided to give her a new name: Lola.
