Six kittens rescued from a shelter set out on a mission to find the most comfortable wraps this holiday season.

About a month ago, Kane’s K9s and Animal Rescue volunteer Asa brought six kittens into her care, each with different colors and markings.
The kittens were rescued from a local humane society and arrived at Kane’s K9 with stomach issues and declining health. Asa immediately provided symptomatic treatment, such as helping the children eat as they had no appetite.
After her careful care and sleepless nights, the kittens are starting to turn the corner.

“Between feeding everyone with syringes and cleaning up, it was a tough day to say the least,” Asa said.
She trusted her instincts and worked hard for the kittens until they received the care they needed to thrive. Once they regained their strength, they expressed it with their cries. Matsutake, one of the calico cats, was making a charming rattling noise.

Looking for affection, they jump on their adoptive mothers as soon as they enter the room, greeting them with meows and purrs.
“He has a variety of meows and purrs. He may not be the loudest kitten I’ve had, but he may be the squealiest.”
They greeted their adoptive mother with squeaky voices and crawled into her lap to take a napmorning
“They’re doing really well now, they’re actually feeding themselves and they’re putting on weight for the first time.”
The kittens (shiitake, shimeji, maitake, nameko, enoki, and matsutake) were named after mushrooms. As they recovered, they quickly grew into plump little bundles, almost all too large to fit in their adoptive mother’s lap.
As they grew, they could barely fit into their adoptive mother’s lap.morning
Even in deep sleep, their purring motor never seemed to stop. They liked to nap on top of their foster home, often sleeping on top of each other even though there were plenty of cozy cat beds and blankets around them.
Enoki, an orange tabby dog, stood out as the only boy in the litter.

He could hardly eat and was in the worst condition, but with proper care he made an amazing recovery. Not only did he fit in, but his bright orange tabby personality shined through.
“When I first picked her up, I was most worried that she wouldn’t make it, but look at her round, healthy belly now.”

When Asa sat down, all six of them dripped onto her lap, snuggling one by one until they were filled with purring kittens.
Once ready for adoption, the four kittens were immediately matched with their perfect homes. “Shiitake and Matsutake were adopted together. They have quickly adapted to their new home. They are very spoiled and already loved.”

Nameko-chan and Maitake-chan will also be spending their first holiday season together. “They are quickly adjusting to their new home and are running around, cuddling, purring and just being their sweet selves.”
Meanwhile, Enoki and his sister Shimeji are looking for a house to live together this Christmas.

Thanks to the support of their foster parents and guardians, these kittens have grown into beautiful young cats with purring, fun-loving personalities.

As they wait for their forever home, Enoki and Shimeji continue to nestle together, often wrapping their arms around each other like two peas in a pod.
