The kind people helped the young cat regain his use of his legs and watched him return on his own right in front of him.

Baker, an orange tabby kitten, arrives at Best Friends Cat (Cat Rescue), hoping for a better life.
Surprisingly, he managed to survive for quite some time with a seriously injured leg before being rescued. “They believe it is an old break, and while little is known about his past, it doesn’t seem to have broken his sweet, loving spirit,” Best Friends Cat shared.
Rescue believed he needed surgery to repair his broken leg, but little did they know that the kitten had other plans.

“Baker is incredibly loving and just wants to be loved 24/7. He does his best to become a fun, favorite kitten despite his injuries.”
After a thorough examination with two veterinarians, they decided to postpone the surgery for several more weeks and reassess what the best behaviour for his long-term comfort is as he grows up.

Behaving as if nothing was wrong, Baker lived to the fullest every day. He absorbed all his special attention, whether at his vet or at home. He moved around a lot, built up strength in his legs, showing no signs of discomfort.
His adventurous foster parents, like him, closely monitored him so that he would not over-induce himself.

“He curls up in his foster parent’s lap or falls asleep in his own space.”
As the days went by, Baker’s legs got stronger and his mobility improved. Once he got the green light to roam the house, he immediately chased his humans like their most loyal companions, and was soon at home.

He explored every inch he could reach, compressing his surroundings, bringing endless laughs to the house. “Baker appears to be bumping into the trend set in front of him by Ginger Kitton, showing strong signs of brain cell activity. He is a very clever, funny, loving little man.”
He met his foster parent, Irwin. “The pair become fast friends and can barely separate.”

“Baker looked after a severely broken femur about a month ago. Last week we received confirmation from one of our partner vets that he was still well healed and did not need surgery.”
He surprises everyone with his resilience and continues to fill the house with joy and entertainment.
