Cat owners have special gifts to turn the most random pet moments into comedy geniuses. Whether you record cat adventures like the National Geographic documentary or blink every slow, dramatic inner monologue, there’s no shortage of creativity. So when one cat owner spotted a single shed whisker on the floor, the only logical response was to turn it into an antenna with a dramatic soundtrack and even more dramatic captions.

In the current video posted by Instagram user @mibicket, a black and white “cow cat” with its owner sitting calmly turns the shed’s whisker into something even more interesting. The clip begins with the cat’s whiskers found on the ground. Instead of putting it aside, the owner picks it up, standing upright on the top of the cat’s head, appearing like an antenna protruding from the skull.
To boost the drama, the owner adds an epic orchestra piece to the background: The Lion King Orchestra Suite (Live) performed by Hans Zimmer, Pedro Yustachi and others. The scenes combined with the music of the film feel strangely important rituals. On-screen captions read “must do it every time” while the reel itself is being captioned. “The prophecy must be satisfied.”
Meanwhile, the cat appears to be completely unbothered – looking at space, she is completely unaware of her new role as a sort of fur satellite. Plus, her blank look, which only adds humor, makes the commentator crack some funny jokes. One wrote, “Well, she needs to be able to pick up signals so that her brain can work,” while another wrote, “There is absolutely no idea behind those beautiful eyes.” Someone else asked, “They say they’re collecting them both Plz and you,” and the owner confessed, “Yes, in the jar on my desk.”
For those wondering, yes, it’s completely normal for cats to throw away their whiskers from time to time. Like fur, the whiskers fall naturally and grow over time. These long, hard hairs, also known as biblissae, serve an important function in helping cats navigate the environment. Losing one or two whiskers is not harmful, but it is important not to trim or pick them as it can confuse your cat.
