Nominees for the 2nd Annual First Responder Paws Therapy Dog Awards have been announced!

FHE Health has announced the nominees for its annual First Responder Paw Therapy Dog Award. The list is full of furry friends that will make your feet go crazy.

FHE healtha national behavioral health provider, held a nationwide contest. “While showcasing the many roles that therapy dogs play everywhere, we also highlight the dire need for therapy dogs to assist first responders, and for more such dogs in both South Florida and communities across the country.” The spotlight is on.”

Additionally, the First Responder Paws Therapy Dog Award is FHE Health’s way of advocating for the need for more therapy dogs for first responders across the country.

And the list of nominees for this year’s First Responder Paws Therapy Dog Award is full of great boys and girls. Some of the most notable candidates include:

  1. Deputy Daly of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. He is a 7 year old Goldendoodle and has been working as a therapy K9 for 4 and a half years. His most notable case involved the abduction of two young children, and after the car the children were in was arrested, Deputy Dalley gave the children the comfort they needed until their mother arrived. Ta.
  2. Willowbrook for LA County Sheriff’s Department. This little dog proves that even small dogs can make a big impact in their communities. Willowbrook was rescued from a backyard breeder and survived parvo. Weighing 5.5 pounds, he visited Los Angeles County’s 6,000 sworn employees and 8,000 civilians.
  3. Raven of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. On his first day on the job, he helped defuse a situation involving a man who had attempted suicide. Thanks to Raven’s encouragement, the man was able to surrender peacefully. How to make a good first impression on your first day at work!
  4. Lacy at a 911 call center in Austin, Texas. Lacey walks the aisles of call centers to support fire, police and sheriff’s departments. But Lacey’s most notable work came when he gave a visitation at Uvalde Memorial Hospital after the horrific school shooting.
  5. Mr. Murphy of the Terry Hess Child Advocacy Center. Murphy is busy as a bee, but her work makes a difference in the lives she touches. She supports victims of child abuse and first responders who investigate and prosecute these cases. She also supports first responders and youth as a volunteer with Canine Caregivers Therapy Dogs.

There are a total of 29 nominees for the First Responder Paws Therapy Dog Award, and the top 10 finalists will be selected by the following review process: public voteis being held until December 4th.

According to FHE Health, “Finalists and winners will be selected by a small committee that includes representatives from FHE Health and FHE Health partner organization First Responders Pack Foundation.”

The national award winners will receive the following prizes:

  • Gift Baskets at Chewy.com
  • A $2,000 check to support their efforts.
  • Free national publicity, including feature blogs that reach over 100,000 people on social media and press releases announcing news
  • A “Top Paws Therapy Dog Award” badge posted on your website or blog to honor your status as one of the 10 finalists.
  • FHE Health donates $2,500 to partner organizations in their honor First Responder Pack Foundationexists to train more therapy dogs for first responders.

Last year, the winner of the First Responder Paws Therapy Dog Award was a 2 1/2-year-old mixed breed dog. “Sergeant Bo”.

In his first three months as a therapy dog, he went from being a stray wandering the streets of Indian Tick Beach, Florida, to providing much-needed comfort and safety to the victims of the Covenant School shooting.
