A man rescued two kittens he found in an industrial area. When he brought them home, one of the kittens became obsessed with the man’s cat.

Two kittens strayed into the middle of an industrial area and decided to stay there until a kind worker found them and, without hesitation, rescued them.
He couldn’t understand how such young kittens had ended up so far from the nearest residential area, and fearing for their safety, the man couldn’t bring himself to leave them alone.
“We took the kittens to the vet and they were not microchipped but were estimated to be six weeks old,” the worker’s wife, Klarieke, shared on Instagram.

Based on where they were and the fact that no one had taken them, the couple assumed they had been abandoned. “They were clean, well-behaved and very sweet. They were obviously used to people,” they said.
While Tuxedo Keith quickly settled into his new space and mastered using the toilet, his mini-panther brother Hugo was still finding his footing.

The couple already had three rescue cats and had no intention of taking on another one, intending to find them loving, nurturing homes, but one of the kittens had different ideas.
Keith quickly came out of her shell and began to play. She was independent, confident and adventurous, exploring every inch of every place she came across. She also craved affection and enjoyed being held or snuggled in a warm lap.

Hugo was a bit shy and reserved, and was dominated by his sister, but deep down he just wanted to be loved. Hugo’s kind heart reminded the couple of their late cat, Jack. “So I have a weakness for him.”
When the kittens met the resident cats, Hugo was attracted to one named Charlie.

Hugo was immediately drawn to Charlie’s calm, friendly presence. After a quick sniff, Hugo snuggled up to Charlie and felt safe. Hugo began spending more time with his new friend and seeking comfort from Charlie.
Hugo enjoys spending time with humans, but grows especially attached to Charlie, and with his friend’s gentle encouragement he gradually comes out of his shell.

With his sister no longer bothering him, his potty problems subsided and he began to regain his confidence. Hugo soon figured out where the snacks were in the kitchen and found his place on the couch with the family.
The couple were more interested in adopting Keith than Hugo, but perhaps that was fate.

Keith (now Freya) found a wonderful family with two older siblings to play with. Despite being the smallest cat, she quickly took the lead in her new home. “My husband and I decided to let Hugo live with us.”
If you cover him with a blanket and sit on the couch, Hugo will immediately relax on the blanket. Hugo will follow you around the house and is always ready to lend a hand.

“When we have guests over, he goes around and cuddles with everyone, whether they like cats or not. He knows when we call his name. He just hears the word ‘food’ and runs to the kitchen.”
Hugo has grown into a happy, playful, handsome cat who loves to cuddle with everyone, but he always saves the best cuddles for his best friend Charlie.

Charlie treats Hugo like a little brother, watching over him and teaching him to be brave, and when Klarieke and her husband come home they can often be found curled up together, perfectly content in each other’s company.
Hugo is well-received by other cats and enjoys playing with them, always respecting their boundaries.

The couple never expected to add another cat to their home, but when Hugo captured their hearts, they couldn’t say no.
He’s no longer small next to his best friend Charlie.
