We’ve talked many times about giving your dog KONG® dog toys to distract them during stressful times (like fireworks) and to prevent separation anxiety. These hollow toys are designed to hold your dog’s food or treats, and we have a fun recipe for a perfect mix to “advertise” for KONG: Chopped Liver for Dogs!
Unlike traditional chopped liver, Chopped Liver for Dogs contains absolutely no onion (and remember: onions are toxic to dogs so they should never be in your dog’s meals or treats).
You can use this as a “glue” for stuffing treat toys such as KONG, mix it into veggies or your dog’s favorite dog food, or you can layer the ingredients together and put the chopped liver in the bottom of the toy, add more veggies or dog food, then top the toy with the chopped liver to stop it all spilling out.
How to make KONG filler
Our Chopped Liver for Dogs recipe is super easy to make and our dogs love it!
(If you don’t use KONG, you can give a spoonful as a treat or add a spoonful on top of a meal to encourage a reluctant dog to eat.)
