The kitten jumped for affection and wouldn’t take no for an answer when it was indoors, away from the highway.

About a month ago, animal rights activist Andrea Christian received a call from a police officer who said a kitten had been found on the highway.
“The officer was heading north on Interstate 75 when he spotted a small kitten lying stunned on the side of the road,” Andrea said. She saw a photo of the fluffy kitten and the injury and immediately offered to help.
When the kitten needed additional care, Andrea immediately adopted it. The doll-like kitten with pleading eyes was hungry for affection.

The kitten had several wounds on its chin, chest, and paws, and was missing some of its fur due to ringworm. Andrea began treating the kitten and was surprised at how calm the kitten seemed to understand that she was being helped.
After a few days, she started to feel better and her energy levels skyrocketed.

This little fur bundle hated being alone and eagerly sought people’s attention. The moment Andrea walked in, she tried to jump over the pen for affection and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
“This girl is always on a mission to go somewhere, which is probably why she was found on the side of the interstate.”

Andrea installed a large playpen to give her kitten space to run around and toys to fight over, but all she wanted was to snuggle with her pet. She remained unfazed by the situation and quietly carried out her daily treatment.
Despite everything she had endured, she just wanted to stay strong and be loved.

The kitten perked up at the sound of Andrea’s voice and chased after her until she was scooped up. Andrea always needed a companion, so we found the perfect foster home for her.
Foster volunteer Nadija was already caring for two kittens with ringworm when she heard that another kitten needed a friend. She jumped at the chance to help.

As soon as she arrived, the fluffy kitten jumped into the cat tree and looked around the room as if she owned it. She was fascinated by Nadija, her big lovely eyes staring at her.
“Nothing can hold her back. She is full of personality and gives us so much love,” Nadija said.

The kitten underwent surgery to repair his jaw and came home with a small button on his lip, hence the name Button. “The orange part is to prevent the suture from digging into the skin. It looks like a button and is cute.”
Soon Buttons was jumping around the room and climbing on anything he could get his feet on.

Buttons met a new feline friend who was also being treated for ringworm. They are protective of her and she is excited to have a playmate to keep her company.
The brown and white tabby senses that Buttons needs special attention and is very kind and gentle with her.

After several weeks of care and nurturing, Buttons made a successful recovery. Her scars have disappeared and her fur has grown back. The button was removed from her chin and she grew into the cutest little button like a kitten.
“She’s a very sweet little girl, very cheerful, very talkative, very comfortable.”
