The kitten turned the corner just 24 hours after being moved from the shelter to a comfortable home.

Apple, a kitten, lived part of her nine lives when she was brought to a city shelter without her mother or siblings. At just a few weeks old, she was frightened and did not thrive in a shelter environment.
Rescuers at Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles learned of her plight and rescued her. “She wasn’t eating much in the kennel because living in a shelter can be quite stressful for animals,” her foster mom Frankie told Love Meow.
Apple arrived at her foster home with big eyes and a skinny little body, but little did she know that things were about to get much better.

“When I brought her home, I brushed her out and she had lots of flea dirt on her. I don’t know her exact history, but the poor girl I know she was out there by herself for a while, so it’s no wonder she was there.” It’s nerve-wracking at first. ”
Wrapped in a soft blanket, Apple snuggled into her foster parents’ arms and melted into them. She was so happy, her little engine purring and blissful.

Within a day of her arrival, she was eating properly, playing with her new toys, and rolling over in her cozy bed. She quickly came out of her shell without any noise from the shelter or any worries about tomorrow.
“She was feeding herself, had plenty of energy, loved all her new toys, and after just 24 hours, she knew she was in a safe place.”

Apple fell asleep with her stuffed animal beside her. She lived alone on the streets, surviving by eating whatever she could find. Now she could rest easy knowing she would never go hungry again.
After getting some much-needed sleep, Apple woke up with a renewed spirit.

“Her personality is very active now. She loves having more space and a safe environment. She loves running around and playing with toys.”
No longer a shy kitten lost in a shelter, she has blossomed into a ball of uninhibited, playful energy.

She’s flying around, chasing the ball toy like a little fluffy tornado tearing through the playpen. Thanks to good food and proper care, she finally had a full stomach and gained enough strength.
Tired from her adventures, she collapsed onto her side and purred to sleep.

One morning, Apple crawled into her adoptive mother’s bed, jumping up and down on the pile of blankets and pillows, claiming the bed as her own.
She’s small and still has light blue eyes, but she easily monopolizes the entire bed with her “I’m the Queen of the Castle” attitude and “battery” that never runs out.

Thanks to a loving home and a kind human who takes care of her needs, Apple is thriving and cooking like a champ.
She smacked her lips and looked at her adoptive mother, as if approving the food. It’s hard to believe that just a few days ago, Apple was out alone, looking for scraps and safe havens.

This beautiful Toby is growing up fast and living every day to the fullest. In just a few more weeks, she will be ready to find her forever home where she will be loved and pampered endlessly.
For now, Apple is busy honing her cat skills and mastering the art of zoomies, defying gravity one step at a time.
