Kind people followed their intuition and discovered a family of cats and kittens in a local park that changed the course of their lives.

Earlier this week, some Good Samaritans noticed a large trash can sitting in the parking lot of a local park.
Trusting their intuition, they decide to stop and investigate the dumpster. When I opened the lid, I was surprised to find a family of cats huddled inside. The older cat looked like a mother, with her grown daughter and four small kittens by her side.
“It was their intuition that saved the two cats and four kittens that were inside,” the Wake County SPCA said.

The discoverers sprang into action and took them to the SPCA. “We made the discoverers know how grateful we were that they followed their instincts and investigated.”
The mother cat was close to the kitten, and the eldest daughter lovingly smothered the kitten.

One of our staff members opened their home to the cat family, providing them with a quiet room where they could relax.
“This trash can was placed in a prominent place in a public place. They were wrapped in blankets to keep warm. Conditions are tough outside. Shelters and rescue facilities are full everywhere. While there are certainly other options (the Wake County SPCA offers a pet help line), it’s possible that the person who released these cats was trying to help but didn’t know any other way. I know there is.”

Thanks to considerate passers-by, the family of six was safe and quickly adapted to their new location. The mother lovingly cares for the kittens, and the grown daughter provides unwavering support.
“Her mother’s oldest daughter was her emotional support,” Samantha Runlett, communications manager for the Wake County SPCA, told Love Meow.

She always washes her face next to her mother and purrs softly in her ear. She is always attentive and is quick to offer comfort, as if she knows when her mother needs a little more love.
“She grooms and cuddles her mother while taking care of all the other kittens.”

“The kittens all look very happy and healthy. The whole family is doing very well and are enjoying peace and quiet in their foster homes.”
Soon, the kittens will begin weaning and learning to eat on their own, giving them even more time to enjoy the things their mother likes. In the comfort and quiet of their homes, their personalities begin to shine through.

Although no longer breastfeeding, the eldest daughter remains close to her mother and often cuddles next to her younger siblings. They feel comfortable and secure when together and around people.
“These six beautiful cats are healthy, purring, warm and in the perfect place to embark on a happy future.”

Whenever a mother needs a break, her daughter is there to lend a hand. In this close-knit family, four young children are cared for by a doting mother and a nurturing sister.
“In just a few weeks, they will all be ready for adoption.”

Thanks to the intuition of a kind passerby, this family of six is thriving in a foster care home, where a future filled with endless love and companionship is guaranteed.
