I had frozen food out, so humans and I went out on shopping day. That’s what everyone who did it said do not have Living in her town, we were surrounded by violent protests. Additionally, the National Guard and Marines were called. Did I have to do a guard cat?
Apparently that’s not the case. For one thing, I never allowed my human being to be at risk of any kind. And another thing, newscasters and people who don’t live here are all wrong. The protest was peaceful except for a handful of troublemakers who were not part of the protest. And some bad things the police did.
The thing is, my man was here due to the 1992 riot. And they are really It was Riot! The whole city was closed for a day or two, and my humans had to go through some of it and get to the house she lived in at the time. And La Fire recently was probably the most frightening thing she’d ever had.
During the hot hours, my humans felt that these protests could be dangerous. However, she realized that this was a different time and situation. People wanted to come together to support their neighbors rather than tear things apart. And when she realized that only a really small part of downtown was affected, she thought she might take me shopping.
Of course, things were calm for our shopping errands, but that could change at any time. My people expect things to pass without really spreading badly. But you don’t have to run errands anymore for at least a few days.
