Gaines Pet Treats LLC voluntarily recalls dog treats due to potential Salmonella contamination

Gaines Pet Treats LLC voluntarily recalls 204 5-ounce bags “Gain’s Family Farmstead Chicken Chips” Treats were given to the dog on November 22nd due to possible Salmonella contamination.

of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reveal, “Possible contamination was brought to our attention after a third party tested and identified contamination in related unreleased lots of the same product.”

The recalled Gaines Family Farmstead dog treats, Gaines Family Farmstead Chicken Chips, are sold through online retailers and to several small independent pet treats in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. It was distributed to retail stores.

Additionally, it comes in a 5 oz bag with the following markings on the back: Lot number 20061124 and Expiry date 12/11/25.

The FDA also noted that this is the only lot number identified as potentially contaminated, and no other lots or products are affected by this recall.

Fortunately, no illnesses have been reported to date related to the recalled products.

The FDA has also reported on Gaines Pet Treats. “Every effort has been made to recall any potentially contaminated product.”

The FDA is asking consumers who have purchased the recalled products to stop using them. Consumers may also contact Gaines. [email protected] Please refund or replace immediately.

For products that may be contaminated with Salmonella, FDA always urges consumers to carefully and properly dispose of the product in a location inaccessible to other animals and humans.

In addition, consumers should also clean and disinfect all pet supplies and surfaces that have been touched by the recalled products.

Animals that eat contaminated products can become infected with salmonella. On the other hand, humans who handle the product are at risk, especially if they do not wash their hands thoroughly after touching the product or surfaces that came into contact with the product.
