A family opened their home to two kittens. He hit it off with the family’s cats, causing double trouble.

The kitten, Pip, was left behind when a community cat relocated the kittens before the storm.

A Good Samaritan tried to reunite him with his mother, but she would not take him back. While the mother cat and the other kittens were cared for, Pip was brought to the care of Jenny, a foster volunteer at Tales High, to give him the best chance to grow.

At one week old, Pip’s eyes are just beginning to open. He had a voracious appetite and would often grow an adorable milky mustache at the end of each feeding.

“Pip still has a good appetite and takes the bottle well. He loves making biscuits after he eats. He purrs more than most kittens I have had at his age. He is just a big fan. It’s a bug,” Jenny said.

Soon he grew a round belly and a loud voice that he could freely use when eating.

Thanks to good food and plenty of TLC, Pip has thrived and his energy levels have skyrocketed. He spent his waking hours kneading blankets and became the loudest little purring machine, charming everyone he met.

After a hearty meal, he slipped into a food coma, feeling completely satisfied.

“He’s always looking for his mom or another kitten to cuddle with. I cuddle with him as much as I can, but not as much as I can with a cat.”

At three weeks old, Pip joined the one-pound club, insisting that he needed a dog bed commensurate with his strength.

Around that time, Jenny was informed about another kitten who had also been left behind. “A family member found her and sought help from the local community manager.”

They immediately remembered Pip, and Tails High School took her into their care without hesitation.

“Even after 10 years of being involved, what still amazes me is how there is an incredible network of TNR practitioners, foster parents, transporters and rescuers who work together to save lives.”

Pip was about a week younger than the fluffy newcomer Layla, but he was stockier. They quickly became friends, playing together and hugging each other like old friends.

After a week together, the two started playing pranks, with Leila being the more adventurous. Pip became more daring, observing his playmates and following her lead in trying new things.

“She is the braver of the two and is always on the move. I have to keep a close eye on her.”

The kittens discover a file holder by the printer and decide it’s the perfect bed, even though there are so many comfortable nap options. Layla slid in first and Pip was soon on top of her.

“I provide the kittens with lots of soft, comfortable places to relax, and this is what they choose.”

They were so excited to meet the resident cat and another rescue kitten that they joined in on the couch for a cuddle party. “Pip and Layla have been very good to Cheese (Ginger’s foster parents).”

They welcomed her with open legs and made sure she was included in every nap.

Leila and Pip are surrounded by wonderful friends and are having the time of their lives in a foster home. As his name suggests, Pip is as talkative as ever, filling the room with his adorable rattles.
