A dog injured by its owner inside a St. Louis business on Wednesday, Sept. 25, is expected to recover, the animal shelter announced.

The Missouri Humane Society also said law enforcement rushed the dog to a shelter, where it received emergency treatment.
they wrote, “He had superficial injuries and was also dehydrated and underweight on arrival, but we expect him to make a full recovery.”

Additionally, KMOV revealed that this dog is not currently up for adoption. A veterinarian is monitoring his condition and checking for diseases such as heartworm disease.

St. Louis police said the shooting occurred after a man was seen wandering around the Renaissance Financial Building with a dog in his arms.
When officers arrived to help outside the building, the man pulled out a knife and began stabbing the dog. KSDK I will report it.
Police deployed a stun gun, but the man was able to escape. After escaping, he climbed the stairs and began stabbing himself in the neck.
The man was shot dead by police before he could do anything more dangerous. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
