After receiving a request from a terminally ill patient to help care for his sick dog, a team of dedicated animal rescuers responded quickly, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to animal welfare. However, upon arriving on scene, they were met with unexpected resistance: they discovered Lazarus, a dog who had been locked in a stall in a barn, a situation that had continued for six years.
Rescue teams faced great difficulties in accessing the stall, mainly due to a huge pile of earth and debris which virtually blocked the entrance.

The two women were horrified to see how badly the dog was treated. His fur was very dirty and he had difficulty moving. He was quickly taken to a groomer to be shampooed and cut. At first, the dog didn’t like having his hair cut by the groomer, but he soon realized how good it felt to cut it himself.

Lazarus had about 33 pounds of hair removed and looked like a new pet. Unfortunately, the dog had a hard time accepting that he had been set free. Jessica Kincheloe, the groomer who rescued Lazarus, said the dog was very suspicious of everyone.
After a while, another dog approached the man. The dog was given a treat and quickly became acquainted with everyone. It was clear that the dog was not used to human contact. It had been years since it had felt any kind, caring touch.

Lazarus was at Big Fluffy Dog Rescue for a few weeks before being adopted. He couldn’t walk at first, but with the right treatment and training, he was able to take his first steps. It didn’t take long for this puppy to find a good home. His new family celebrated his 8th birthday with all the love he deserves. No one would guess he was once a 35 pound burden. Now he has a beautiful coat and a wonderful family to care for him.
