All cats are different and your kitten may have their own special way of telling you that you are enjoying your company. However, there are some common signs that our cats show to let us know they are. Petguard, a leading pet insurance company, shares the most common signs.

Head Bat

In humans, headbutts are far from signs of affection. But in cats, the headbutt is a clear indication that your cat loves you. Your cat, also known as bunting, is actually trying to rub the scent on you using their forehand, lips and cheek glands.

Cheek rub

Cats have many scents around their heads. They have scent glands on their cheeks, forehead, neck and ears. As you smash and rub your cat against objects, your cat will activate these scented glands and rub them as a way to claim your ownership and mark your territory.

Follow you around

If your cat can’t get enough of you, they will happily chase you around the house. Cats love to be around people they’re nearby, so you may find them chasing you from room to room.

“If you feel that your cat is particularly affectionate, they will try to get as close as possible to you.
