Last month, the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) posted an image of a cat shot with an arrow in Philadelphia. A calico kitten had been shot and killed by someone as an act of animal abuse. Luckily, the cat was saved by a good Samaritan and rushed to the PSPCA. Surgeons did an amazing job repairing the cat and he is now on the road to recovery.
PSPCA investigation underway after cat found injured by arrow in Philadelphia
The cat named Kimiko who was shot with a bow and arrow was part of a cat colony in Philadelphia. The colony had a caretaker who frequently visited to feed the felines. One day, on my way to feed the cats, I found Kimiko sitting in her usual spot. However, there was an arrow sticking out of her right thigh.
The feline’s name represents a new and promising beginning, and the staff hopes that’s what awaits the cat. Kimiko underwent surgery as soon as she arrived, and two surgeons operated on her at the same time. They removed the arrow that had been stuck in her leg for hours and treated her other wounds.
Kimiko’s name also has the meaning of “beautiful,” and the staff said: Instagram post The calico cat was a beautiful kitten. The best part is that Kimiko doesn’t seem to have any mistrust of humans even after her ordeal. She still has a loving and kind personality.
Kimiko would have died a slow and painful death if the cat, shot with an arrow, had not been found by the caretaker of the Philadelphia Colony. The arrow had just grazed her bone, but it was still quite deep. Nicole Wilson from the PSPCA said: new york post“This person seriously injured this cat, and we don’t know if someone who makes that choice might make another choice that could potentially hurt another person.”
This incident is currently under investigation and the PSPCA’s Animal Law Enforcement Division is seeking information from the public. You can also call the Cruelty Hotline or leave a tip anonymously.
