A heartwarming story of a lost cat being reunited with its owner is gaining traction on social media. Benny and Suzanne Anguiano of California were on a camping trip to Yellowstone National Park in June with their cats, Rain Beau and Star. While camping at Fishing Bridge RV Park, Rain Beau, a 2-year-old male Siamese cat, went missing in the woods of Yellowstone National Park.
Despite an exhaustive search that lasted five days, the owners were never able to find the cat, but nearly two months later, Rainbow miraculously made the 800-mile journey from Yellowstone to be reunited with her owners.
Missing cat returns home after 60-day, 800-mile journey
Rain Beau, a 2-year-old male Siamese cat, went missing while camping in Yellowstone National Park. He was recently reunited with his owners, Suzanne and Benny Anguiano, from California.
The couple suddenly lost sight of the cat after it ran into the woods. They waited for the cat to return and kept searching for it for five days near their campsite. However, they were unable to find the cat and lost hope. Rainbow’s sister cat, Star, couldn’t see her brother and started meowing through the screen door of the trailer.
Five days later, with a heavy heart, the California couple decided to return to their home in Salinas. The New York Times“I couldn’t imagine leaving him behind,” said Mrs. Anguiano, expressing her anguish over the situation. “I felt like I was abandoning him,” she continued.
But nearly two months after the cat went missing, something miraculous happened: Rainbow was found wandering the streets of Roseville, California, just three hours from the Anguianos’ home. KSBThis was over 800 miles from Yellowstone National Park.
A local worker from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals informed Suzanne and Benny Anguiano that Rainbow had been identified by rescuers with the help of a microchip. Soon after, the couple was reunited with their beloved cat. According to the owners, Rainbow had lost a lot of weight. However, they further stated that Rainbow has been doing well since being rehomed in early August.
