She can really only tolerate it if it is very high quality. Butcherbox knew in advance that I met her requirements along with their human food subscription service and pet food as I had previously partnered with them. Still, we took it safely and slowly.

Let me take it apart a little. Currently, the food comes in boxes of 8, 10 and 20 lb, and variety packs are available in both recipes or just one recipe (beef or chicken). The larger the box, the lower the price per pound. At the time of pricing today, using a £8 box will pay around $8.75 per pound. Using a 20-pound box will bring you closer to $7.35 per pound.
I went to the local grocery store website and saw how much it would cost to buy the main ingredients and make something similar. Generic Store Brand Beef is $6.49/lb (and there is no guarantee that it will be humanely raised and not contain antibiotics). Sweet potatoes cost $0.99 each. Between these two ingredients you’ve already exceeded the cost per pound in a 20-pound box, and didn’t even reach chickpeas, blueberries, or other ingredients. Certainly, it can stretch the secondary components over a few pounds. The time you spend shopping and preparing food, the electricity used to prepare it, and in the long run, you’ll pay roughly, the same, or the same as a butcher at a price per pet.
After opening, it needs to be refrigerated.
