An animal shelter in St. Louis, Missouri, shares the story of how it rescued, rehabilitated and helped find a home for Cardi B, a bald dog who was left abandoned in a vacant lot in July.

The animal shelter shared that a Good Samaritan was driving and “pulled to the side of the road after seeing this.”A lonely box in the tall green grass. ”
“It’s empty, but there’s a figure next to it.” The animal shelter wrote: “I cover my mouth with my hand when I approach him. Next to the crate is a dog that was hit by a car and died. And next to him is an old dog who has lost all his hair and has a broken pelvis. I can’t stand up or walk.”
After witnessing the horrifying and heartbreaking scene, the Good Samaritan was very angry, but he made sure the dog got the help it needed.
“Thankfully, the finder made it her duty to help them. She’s a hero. She called everywhere and no one came to help this dog.” The St. Louis stray rescue continued.
Thankfully, St. Louis Feral Rescue received a call from a Good Samaritan a few days after finding the dog. “She named the woman Cardi B and brought her to Stray Rescue for emergency treatment.”
Initially, Sarah Barney, the good Samaritan who rescued Cardi B, posted about the dog’s situation, but the rescue received no interest.
Thankfully, her good friend Julie Kristofferson shared a story A post on her Facebook page helped get the dog rescued.
Mr. Christopherson “she [the dog] She wasn’t alone, sadly her cute puppy friend didn’t survive and she didn’t leave his side. ”
She also spoke about the circumstances surrounding Cardi B’s discovery. “Her condition is absolutely terrible.”
She explained that Cardi B had it. “can’t believe it” Thousands of fleas have caused hair loss and burns all over his body. “The veterinarian says this is probably due to urine and fecal burns from being stuffed in a small box and left there for many days.”
Furthermore, his teeth are badly ground and he suffers from anemia to the point where he is unable to get up on his own.
“It is shocking beyond measure to think of what she has been through in these short years. Her sweet puppy friends have also suffered from the same dire circumstances.” Kristofferson wrote.
A week after Cardi B was rescued, Stray Rescue in St. Louis shared an update on the dog: “We accomplished a 180.”.
The animal shelter also discovered that Cardi B is already an old lady. She’s 13 years old and life is just going in the right direction for her.
“After just one week of love, nutrition, medical care and a set of wheels, this little girl was on the move.” Animal shelters share. “She’s 13 years old and ready to live her life the way it’s meant to be lived. With lots of love and care.”
Today, Cardi B is living the life she deserves: happy, safe, and loved.
Months after Cardi B was rescued, the animal shelter shared the dog. “Glow up” In October with a series of photos.
“After spending some time in our clinic, she went to a children’s home.” they shared.
“Those puppy eyes! You can see how much better she’s feeling. Her foster parents say she’s sitting up on her own.”
The animal shelter also shares that Cardi B loves chasing balls and now enjoys swimming. “That’s all.” they wrote.
“Cardi B, we love you, baby! Thank you, thank you to everyone who supports rescue dogs, they deserve help.” wrote the St. Louis Feral Rescue Team.
