A man adopted two kittens from a litter of kittens, and noticed that one of the kittens would always lean on the other every time the kittens changed clothes in front of him.

Alley Cat Project rescuers responded to a call to save cats and kittens living among vehicles and sharp objects on the property.

Among the rescued cats were two ginger kittens clinging to each other for comfort. Volunteer Josh Norem volunteered to help train the two. He set up a quiet space with a cozy nook and plenty of treats to make them feel at home.

The first night I brought them indoors, the kittens got scared and ran away to a corner. One was especially timid, crouching behind his brother as if his life depended on it.

Twinkle Toes, the kitten wearing white boots, was the shyer of the two. As he tries to make sense of his new world, he turns to his younger brother, Par Monster, for help.

By the second day, the purring monster began to come out of his shell, drawn by the promise of food and reassured by Josh’s tender affection. He inched closer to his adoptive father while Twinkle Toes used him as a shield.

All the hissing, spitting, and taut ears were just for show. As Twinkle Toes savored the treat and experienced the comfort of the warm lap, his demeanor softened and the engine began to purr.

“It took about two days for him to stop hissing and for me to pet him. It took about a week for him to really calm down,” Josh told Love Meow.

True to its name, Purr Monster’s motor roars to life when it feels safe, turning it into the most adorable snuggle bug.

Once he became a full-fledged lap cat, his older brother followed suit. Twinkle Toes relaxed and curled up on top of Josh, hugging her chin scar with her brother.

Eventually, they huddled side by side on their adoptive father’s lap and purred loudly in unison. “These two are the very definition of love bugs.”

“The Purr Monster is the friendliest and most affectionate kitten you’ll ever meet.”

“He purrs just by looking at you and follows you around all day. And he loves to climb on your lap and purr all day long.”

As soon as Josh sits down with his laptop, the purring monster jumps onto his lap and tries to teach him some cat wisdom. “He is a truly unique, friendly and loving person.”

“Twinkle Toe is a little more shy than her older brother, so she relies on him for support. He really came out of his shell in the foster care home and started purring within a second or two when he was touched. It’s a very cute high-pitched sound.

“He’s not very affectionate at first, so it’s a good balance for his siblings, but once you’re comfortable he’ll climb into your lap and start his big purring motor.”

Ginger boys are like two peas in a pod, always facing each other. They do everything as a duo and even clean each other in perfect sync.

“Together, they form a wonderful pair of kittens who are very friendly and well-adjusted.”

Twinkle Toes has come a long way since her loud and scary days. He now enjoys the company of his companions, often relaxing near his dogs and enjoying moments of calm before the chaos of play.

They are balls of energy, flying around the house, jumping, climbing, and doing all sorts of antics.

Gaining a second chance, this bonded pair grows up to be pampered domestic cats. Twinkle Toes continues to lean on her brother as she embarks on her next chapter with him.
