The Chinese influencer first heard about the dog from a local in 2022, and later named it Zhongbao (“faithful baby”). He found her in a cemetery, lame and suffering from a severe skin disease.

Later, a local resident told @ganpojiege that Zhongbao was still guarding his owner’s grave after his death.

For Zhongbao, his owner’s grave in the cemetery is his home, and he only leaves the grave when he goes to the village to look for food.

Some people tried to adopt her, but to no avail, and Zhongbao kept running away, returning to her owner’s grave, so people gave up on trying to adopt her.

But in a touching and heartwarming gesture before rescuing Zhongbao, the influencer pledged at his previous owner’s gravesite that he would care for the dog but would take him home to visit his grave often.

It took the influencer about four months for Zhongbao’s skin disease to completely heal.

Today, Chuho has a long, healthy coat and lives with hundreds of other dogs rescued by influencers.

And @ganpojiege kept his promise and often brought his dog home to visit his owner’s grave.

The influencer likens the dog’s loyalty to its previous owner: Hachikoa famous Japanese dog who waited for his deceased owner for 10 years at Shibuya Station.

Therefore, it touched the hearts of many Chinese online users.
