A kitten was left in a stairwell, but as soon as she got home, her face lit up, especially when she saw other cats.

It was a rainy day when Alyssa, a volunteer with Puppy Kitty New York City, received a photo of a young cat in need.
A neighbor found the kitten left in a building’s stairwell with a small cup of water and food and began knocking on the door. “They told me they didn’t want a cat and that they were moving,” Alyssa said.
She received a message on her way out of the shelter and immediately headed to the scene. When she arrived, she couldn’t find the cat.

“I thought someone had taken him or maybe he had run outside, because when I went up the stairs there were two doors open outside the building where it was pouring down.”
As she called for her kitten, she looked around and noticed a small movement under the ceiling, directly above the pressure gauge. Alyssa, who always carried snacks with her, gave them to the kitten, and the kitten immediately became interested.

The kitten was cautious and unsure, but could not resist the seductive smell and slowly approached Alyssa. “He got curious and looked out, so I climbed up and scratched his neck.”
When the kitten entered the foster home with Alyssa, the fear in his eyes quickly disappeared and the purring engine began to roar.

Within hours, the kitten, named Giardani, transformed into a cuddlebug, kneading blankets with his paws and running his purring motor nonstop. With a few light scratches on his chin, he headed straight for the clouds and closed his eyes contentedly.
Feeling safe and comfortable, Giardani rolled onto her back and presented her fluffy belly to her foster mother for rubbing and kisses.

Yardani has regained his noisy, playful spirit, attacking toys like a real boxer. When they get tired of saving, they seek out a mate and request to be held in their lap or in their arms.
He first jumps to the top of the cat post and chases the toy with ferocious energy. But when playtime is over, he turns into the biggest baby and blends into humans. “When he wants love, he just looks for my lap, tries to jump up, squeals and yells at me. He gets completely squishy. This boy is pure love.”

“He’s doing really well here, and he’s even bold enough to sit on the coffee table, but who can say no to this face?”
When Giardani met other rescue cats in the house, she was completely hooked. He followed them everywhere and tried to be their best friend.

No matter how aggressively they play around, they are always kind and gentle towards their companions and feline friends.
One of the cats, DJ Mittens, is a little unsteady, but Giardani often puts his arm around her and gently washes his face with love.
Giardani and Mitzalyssa
Giardani also has a cat, Monchichi, who shows off his impressive swiping skills with toys and perfect high jumps.
“Giardani and Monchi love to chase each other from room to room, and they love wrestling with Mitz. Mitz loves all the attention, and the three of them groom each other all the time. Even if there’s wrestling afterwards, it’s a lot of fun.”

Monchi and Mitz have become increasingly brave, more playful, and more curious as they try to keep up with Giardani’s boundless energy. Together, they embark on new daily adventures.
“Not only is he cute, he makes really funny noises, he’s cuddly, and he shows off new talents every day.”

Alyssa had no intention of adopting another foster parent, but she couldn’t leave the kitten alone for her own safety. He is now living happily with his feline friends, running fast, jumping high, and cuddling without a care in the world.
