Volunteers from Bay Despoir Kitty Rescue frequent the local dump to help local cats that have wandered in there, and when they arrived there late last month, they were shocked by what they saw.
Two volunteers heard what sounded like a kitten crying hysterically in the woods. They called out to the kitten and waited for its little head to pop out of the hole. They hadn’t seen the kitten the night before, so it was likely abandoned within the last 24 hours.
“Luckily, she has a very loud voice so we can hear her easily when she’s crying,” one of the rescuers, Sandra, shared on Facebook.

The kitten crawled through the pile of rubbish, following the sound of a stranger’s voice. When he found rescuers, he stumbled through the pile of rubbish and ran towards them, desperately calling for help.
The pup was incredibly friendly and affectionate, rubbing against the volunteer and purring nonstop.

That night, the little leopard named Bean was safe and sound, with a full belly and a comfortable bed to sleep.
Bean, estimated to be 10 weeks old, was being treated for injuries to her leg with the help of Exploits Valley SPCA. “She was brought to the shelter and sent to the vet because she was unable to put weight on her left front leg. Thankfully there was no fracture,” the SPCA said.

After undergoing a thorough medical examination, Bean was allowed to go to a facility where her health could be monitored and she could be nursed until she recovered. “Bean is the cutest kitten you could imagine. She purrs just by looking at her.”
The little bean insisted on being present wherever his caregiver was present, and would follow him into the office, purring sweetly and sharing his feline wisdom.

Knowing how much she loved people, the staff at the shelter were determined to find her a family that would cherish and spoil her.
Wendy Thomas, who previously adopted a cat from the SPCA, came across a post about Bean by chance: “We always adopt rescued cats or cats that come across by chance. I found Bean on my local SPCA’s Facebook page and she just spoke to my heart,” Wendy told Love Meow.

“He was almost identical to the previous cats we’d adopted from the same shelter, both of them had injured legs.” After contacting the SPCA, it didn’t take long for them to realise they’d found the perfect match.
Bean quickly settled into her new home and was greeted by her new cat siblings, who were thrilled to have a kitten to play with.
Bean has found his forever homeWendy Thomas
“She loves playing with boxes and little kitten toys and has taken over the top spot on the cat tower. She’s still very possessive about food because she had to fight for it when she was in the litter box, but she’s learning that there is plenty of food.”
Thanks to good food and lots of love, Bean’s front legs are improving and he is getting closer to a full recovery with each passing day.
She loves her big family and enjoys soaking up the sunWendy Thomas
She loves birdwatching and sunbathing, and will soon be heading out on adventures with other cats.
Not long ago, Bean ran up to some kind rescuers and jumped into their arms. Now, she’s thriving in her forever home with a large family that loves her dearly.
