A dog that spent 472 days in a shelter is adopted at an adoption event.

A Virginia animal shelter has some good news: One of its rescue dogs has finally found a forever home after spending 472 days at the shelter.

The Angels of Assisi shared this news on Wednesday, November 27th. facebook post, “Finally, RoRo met a human at Pet Expo’s Adopt-A-Thon last Saturday.”

The Angels of Assisi say Rollo’s family suffered a loss and were forced to move, leaving the dog in a shelter after they were no longer able to care for it.

Lolo’s life was difficult. Because in addition to being handed over to his family, he also had some medical issues.

“In addition, RoRo required surgery to remove a cancerous mass and has severe allergies that have caused hearing loss, which requires daily treatment.”

And although there weren’t that many candidates to take over Rolo, she did have an “angel ambassador.” He’s the one who takes her on weekly outings to keep her energized and give her extra love despite living in a shelter.

And on Saturday, November 23rd, Lolo finally found his forever home. “Kathy fell in love instantly, and we know RoRo’s feelings were mutual.” The animal shelter was shared.

The Angel of Assisi also reveals that Rollo quickly settles into his new mother’s house and vast garden.

The animal rescue group said it was extremely excited about the next chapter in Lolo’s life, saying: “Kathy says RoRo actually saved her life and we look forward to growing together over the next few years.”
