A cat was found hiding on the steps of a subway station and transformed into a full-fledged kneeling cat in just a few days.

Last week, Megan, president of PuppyKittyNYCity, an animal rescue organization, received an urgent message about a cat found in a subway station on her way to work.
The cat crouched down on the stairs, frozen in fear. Though scared, he didn’t have a mean bone in his body and even allowed his finder to pet him. Megan jumped into action as soon as she received the location.
Although her rescue was already full, Megan said, “There are some situations where you can’t say no. We can’t leave this baby in a subway station all day.”

The cat was most likely abandoned because no one came to pick it up. Somehow he ended up at a subway station. Overwhelmed by the noise of the city, he pressed himself against the stairs and tried to hide.
Despite having to go to work that morning, Megan changed her route and headed to the site, where one of the volunteers stayed with the cat to keep it safe.

When she arrived, the cat was curled up on the volunteer’s lap and tucked into her arms. He didn’t move or try to run away, he just clung to the human as if he believed she was his shield.
Megan didn’t have any rescue equipment at the time, so she improvised.

She took everything out of her purse and gently put the cat inside. It fit perfectly and my docile cat snuggled in without any fuss. As Megan carries him down the street, he leans into her, believing he’ll be okay.
“I got him safely to the car, and of course we named him Subway.”

Subway was a little shaken up by the ordeal, but once inside he began to relax. Megan took quite a detour to work that morning, but it was worth it.
The subway was safe so I didn’t have to endure another day outside.

Over the next few days, Subway visited the veterinarian and received all the care he needed to begin a new chapter filled with love and sweetness.
As soon as he settled into the house, he came out of his shell and blossomed into a perfect lap cat.

Estimated to be one year old, Subway is still a kitten at heart. They love to play, but crave more human affection. “He is literally perfect and so friendly. He would make a great addition to any home, even as a first cat.”
Subway has regained his confidence and is no longer intimidated. He approaches people for pets and attention, rumbling and making loud engine noises.

As soon as someone sits down, Subway transforms into a purring, furry lap warmer and advances to its prime position. He’s happiest when he’s cuddling up with his friends and getting his cheeks rubbed.

Thanks to the kindness of rescue workers, Subway is thriving in his new life, enjoying warm laps, good food, and comfortable indoor living.
