A new study by Talker Research found that 87% of dog owners in serious relationships are more likely to believe that: “Love at first sight” with animals rather than people.
This research was commissioned by honest kitchenwe also got some interesting insights into partnered dog owners and their love for their pets.
Talker Research conducted a survey of 2,000 dog owners in serious relationships. The study found that 80% of respondents had the following symptoms: “Instant Connection” 69% said the same about their partner, compared to their dog.
However, one in five (19%) said they still need time to develop a bond with their dog. And 20% of these dog owners question whether their decision to adopt a pet was the right one because they didn’t make an immediate connection.
But like any beautiful blossoming relationship, 74% of respondents believe that the bond between them and their dog was stronger because they had to build it over time, and it’s definitely worth the wait. I feel that.
The survey also asked respondents if there was anything they wished they had known before adopting a dog.
“Many of these responses were about food, which may come as no surprise. 76% said food is their ‘love language’ and they give their dog ‘only the best.’ I answered that I am paying close attention to this. ” This was revealed by Talker Research.
What other respondents wanted to know: “True time investment” That’s what owning a dog comes with and you realize how similar it is to raising a human child.
Despite some hurdles, some dog owners are surprised by how much happier they are after getting a dog. They wrote if they knew “I would have gotten them sooner considering the amount of joy they bring.”
The results showed this to be true, as 83% of respondents said owning a pet was better than they expected.
And an equal number of respondents agree that owning a pet isn’t all sunshine and dreams, but they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Miki Dorsen, CMO of Honest Kitchen, said: “There are so many things I look forward to about owning a dog, but I can’t be honest without acknowledging how difficult it can be.”
“At the end of the day, the most meaningful relationships in your life are the experiences you have, both the good times and the bad.”
