My human is a cat expert in case you haven’t guessed. So she knows more about cat and cat behavior than most people (except for other cat expert friends). But even she didn’t know these eight facts, or if so, she didn’t know the explanations behind them. So here’s your chance to see how good you are in cat trivia! You didn’t know all of these (or maybe something).
- Do you know how two cats combine with mutual grooming sessions? In fact there is a term for that – alliance.
- The oldest known pet cats are from before Egypt! Archaeologists discovered it was buried next to a Cyprus owner in 2004. The cat’s grave surrounded by precious artifacts is estimated to be around 9,500 years old.
- Most of you know that your cat has a third eyelid as an extra shield against soil and other debris. It helps to lubricate the eyes. But did you know what it was called? The scientific term is the trimolecule or inducing membrane of blue hair, but is also called ho.
- Cats can take the form of motion throttle by seeing fast moving objects on the screen. It’s probably not the same kind of nausea as human motion sickness, but it can still cause disorientation and anxiety. The intensity at which a cat experiences this type of pain can vary between cats.
- Cats have a thin layer of muscle on their skin and fascia, which in turn twitches the skin in its quirky way. It is called Panicrus Carnosos and spreads across the back, chest, abdomen, and the upper part of the back legs.
- Cats’ cerebral cortex contains 250 million cells. This is despite the fact that the bear’s brain is 10 times larger than that of a cat.
- Not only do cats have emotions (as anyone with cats knows), but some of the emotions that control their brains are almost the same as humans.
- Most of you know that cats can’t taste sweet because cats lack their specific receptors on their tongues…but you can’t see how many taste buds they have. do Do you have it? 473!
I hope you enjoyed these and that you learned something new about our kittens! Have you been confused? Please let me know in the comments.
