Fresh fruits and vegetables are equally valuable. You need to condition your dog to recognize them as: dog treats.

“I always encourage pet owners to introduce vegetables and fruits to their pets as early as possible at a young age,” Wynn says. “They are the healthiest treats available to us. If you teach your dog early that vegetables are good for them, they will become a treat for them.”

For a quick treat, consider small apple slices (seedless), pear slices, blueberries, mini carrots, or frozen green beans for a cold snack.
