By SecretWuff 10 Min Read

Your dog probably loves to run around in the rain, dirt and mud. It’s an absolute explosion for them, and an absolute confusion for us. I don’t mind that the puppy gets messy at times, but I want to keep the mess outside rather than cleaning the house from top to bottom every time I step inside.

We understand the frustration it causes, and we do so in order to prevent your dog from tracking dirt throughout your home, regardless of whether it’s annoying while we’re outside. That’s why I spent time to highlight the true methods that were tried.

8 tips to help your dog not track dirt inside the house

No one in the house doesn’t want a dog to track it. But unfortunately, Fido will never think about it again. That’s why we can take the time to highlight the 8 tips you can follow and help you put those dirty foot prints behind you over and over again!

1. Get a dog’s doormat

You need to keep a dog before you own it. There are dog-specific entrance mats to help with this issue. Pairing it with both the inside and outside door mats will at least reduce dirt from your feet.

2. I’ll wipe my feet

This may sound obvious, but it’s still worth mentioning. Dogs mainly track dirt and mud on your home with their feet, so take the time to wipe them off before you get inside.

It is recommended to use two towels. The first towel should be a little wet to remove most of the dirt and remove the rats, while the second towel will dry out, clean and dry your feet.

3. Take care of it

If your dog has longer hair, you know everything about the struggles they track down with their fur stains and mud. However, the solution to this is simple. Keep your coat shorter. Shorter furs are less likely to collect mud and dirt, and less likely to need to give you a bath when you go inside.

4. There is a cleaning station

If your dog is a habitual muddy outdoor player, having a dedicated cleaning station that you need to go through before you get inside can be a lifesaver. Maybe you need something simple like a bathtub with a hose, but just dry them at the station to keep all your furniture from getting wet.

5. Train to wipe your feet

This may seem impossible or stupid, but the truth is that some people trained their dogs to wipe their legs before they get inside! This is a simple and effective trick that can be used to get at least some dirt and mud from your feet.

Please note that this is not a 100% effective solution. So, if you can successfully teach this trick, you will need to wipe your feet a little on your own.

6. Fix muddy spots in your garden

If you can prevent puppies’ paws from getting muddy in the first place, then they have nothing to track your home! I understand that it’s not 100% effective at removing all the muddy spots in your garden, but even tackling some big problem areas can make a huge difference.

7. Let’s think about grass

This is not the most affordable solution, but it is one of the more effective options. Artificial turf is a material that can help your dog soften himself safely and comfortably, but it does not stain your dog’s legs very easily as there is no mud or dirt with real grass.

You need to keep your dog only, but there are multiple ways to do this. But you still need to keep another solution in mind for a walk and when they go out to different areas!

8. Please tell me to wait

This is one of the most effective things you can do to prevent your dog from tracking dirt in your home. Train your dog and sit at the door and wait for the command before waiting for it. Ideally, I would like to teach this before you have dirty legs, but even after they know the trick, you should always force it.

By waiting, you will have the opportunity to clean their feet before they enter your home, which will be a great help.
