Every day, the cat waits at the front door to greet the person who, without hesitation, rescued her and her four kittens.

Melissa, founder of Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue, received an urgent request to help a pregnant cat – her family could no longer care for her and wanted to find her a safe haven.
Originally rescued from a parking lot, Moon was a very friendly, affectionate and trusting cat who quickly adapted to her new environment. Whenever Melissa made the slightest movement, Moon immediately ran to her side, seeking affection.
“Just five days after our baby arrived, I went into labour in the middle of the night,” Melissa told Love Meow.

“I woke up early that morning and went into her room to feed her and was surprised to see that Moon had given birth to four kittens – two females and two males. Moon seemed happy and content with her newborn kittens.”
Moon showed great trust in her owner, who changed her bedding and gently transferred her babies onto clean towels. She was grateful for all the help she received and seemed happy with the limited food she was able to eat.

As she nursed the kittens day and night, her appetite skyrocketed: “She wanted the next big can of kitten food immediately.”
Every day Moon waited at the entrance, greeted Melissa with a cute smile and asked for food in a loud voice. He ate very fast, without even taking a breath. When he was full, he rubbed his body against his owner as if to say thank you for the meal.

“This mum is constantly making biscuits in the air, on the floor, on blankets and even on her baby. She doesn’t care where. One very happy girl.”
The kittens opened their eyes and toddled around the nest, discovering the world around them as they tried to get out.

While her siblings were busy nursing, Aurora (Tuxedo) wriggled over to the edge of the bed to greet her foster mom. “Her eyes were barely open, but she was still determined to check on us.”
There were toys scattered around and Moon surprised everyone by appearing to be having a great time playing with them.

“Her favourite toys are the cat charmer, feather wand and rail tower, but she loves to chase them when I throw them around the room.”
As the kittens grew more adventurous and fearless, Melissa moved them to a larger area where they could explore freely.

Moon continues to greet her foster mom in the most adorable way, filling the room with her soothing purring. Moon watches as Melissa cleans her room, refills her bowls, and sets out new toys for Moon to try.
Silas, the bravest of the kittens, was the first to try the big cat food.

He also discovered he could request cuddles and quickly grew into a lap cat.
“Moon got a little nervous and protective when he started wandering a little farther than she would have liked, so she tried to carry him back to the nest.”

Once they started eating solid food, the four kittens quickly got the hang of eating from the bowl and showed the same voracious appetite as their mother. Moon kept a close eye on them as they gobbled down their food, always ready to jump in and wash their faces.
Moon followed the kittens to the litter box, cheering them on as they learned to use it for the first time. “She’s a really supportive mom. These kittens are really lucky.”

“The kittens are now six weeks old and Moon has started playing with them, it’s so adorable to watch.”
This is her second and final kitten, and with the help of her foster mom, Moon is regaining her inner kitten, chasing toys and bouncing around in playful behavior.
