The cat who wandered into her garden looking for help was “so sweet” – and now she brings her trusty teddy bear everywhere she goes.

One weekend, a shaggy cat stumbled into a family’s garden looking for food. Starving and weak, it meowed with all its might when its discoverer approached.
“The person who found him said he was an adorable cat but was reduced to skin and bones and desperately needed help,” said Sarah Kelly, founder of Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue.
Sarah and her team jumped into action after receiving the call for help: this tabby cat, affectionately named Bagel, was in dire need of a soft landing.

Jennifer, a volunteer with the rescue, opened her home to Bagel for adoption, and despite his frail health, the elderly dog never stopped letting out sweet meows and soft sounds to thank Jennifer for taking him in.
“We got her examined as soon as possible on Monday and it was clear that it was a miracle she was still alive as she weighed less than four pounds.”

Bagel spent the night in hospital receiving fluids and treatments under the 24/7 supervision of a veterinary team. “She has a long way to go before she recovers from what appears to be near starvation.”
The finder graciously covered Bagel’s initial veterinary care costs and was relieved to know she was finally in good hands.

After a few days in the comfort of her home, Jennifer discovered Bagel’s favorite treat: “She’s thoroughly enjoying the treats while getting used to her new, luxuries-filled life. She loves the level of care her foster mom gives her.”
A few weeks after Bagel was rescued, she hit a major milestone of five pounds and her family celebrated.

As she gained muscle mass and got stronger, she became more exploratory, walking up to her foster mom and rubbing up against her, always thanking her for her presence and the treats she brought her.
“She has been doted on by her excellent foster parents and is soaking up all the love she never got before. We are so grateful that the kitten has begun to gain weight steadily.”

When Bagel was given a little teddy bear to keep him company, he treasured it dearly and took it with him everywhere he went.
She loves her soft bed, hearty food, cuddly toys, and affection from her owner. She sleeps soundly at night with a full belly because she no longer has to worry about tomorrow.

Bagel can often be found watching over his teddy bear by his side, dreaming of a bottomless bowl of treats, a warm lap to curl up on, and energetically playing with his feather toy.
Motivated by food, this adorable senior cat slowly gained weight and his fur became softer and shinier.

She spends most of her time snoozing in her comfy bed with her trusty teddy bear. She is now lighter on her step and her gait is surer and stronger.
“She spends her days snuggling, sleeping and enjoying treats. Her ‘sweet tooth’ is just one way this senior dog gets pampered.”
