Celebrating 14 years with Cat Wisdom 101: Plus, we’re celebrating Odin and Otto’s 14th birthdays!
Hello, dear cat lovers! I’m Layla Morgan Wilde, founder of Cat Wisdom 101, and I’m excited to celebrate 14 years with you all. It’s been an amazing journey full of purrs, whiskers, and infinite feline wisdom. Whether you’re a longtime follower or a new friend, thank you for being a part of our community.
The Beginning
In 2009, I started blogging about my cats on another blog, BoomerMuse, with a weekly feature called Cat Saturday that evolved into what we now call Caturday.
It was so popular, with over 1 million visitors a year, that in 2011 I decided to launch my cat-centric blog, Cat Wisdom 101, with a dream to share my passion for cats and holistic pet care.
As a holistic cat behaviorist and animal communicator, I wanted to create a place where we could explore the wonderful world of cats together, little did I know that this blog would grow into a beloved resource for cat lovers around the world.
What makes “Cat Wisdom 101” so special?
1. Expert advice and tips: Over the years I’ve shared countless tips on everything from behavioral issues to health concerns, and my goal has always been to provide practical, trustworthy advice to help you and your feline friend live their best lives together.
2. Heartwarming Stories and Cat Art
One of the things I love most about blogging is sharing heartwarming stories of cats and their owners. These stories of rescue and transformation always inspire us and remind us of the deep bond we share with our furry companions. I love vintage cat art and anything that’s a little quirky. Browse our vast archive on any topic.
3. Holistic approach:I’m a firm believer in the power of holistic practices in pet care, and I love exploring and sharing ways to naturally enhance your cat’s health, from natural remedies and products to alternative therapies.
4. Engaging community: Cat Wisdom 101 is more than just a blog – it’s a community. I love interacting with people through Q&A sessions, comment threads, and social media. It’s great to connect with so many like-minded cat lovers and share our experiences.
Milestones and Achievements
Over the past 14 years, we’ve achieved some amazing milestones: – Awards and recognition: Cat Wisdom 101 has won multiple awards in recognition of the quality and impact of our content. – Media coverage: Our work has been featured in various media outlets, spreading our cat wisdom far and wide.
I am most proud of my creation of Black Cat Awareness Month, celebrated every October, and my award-winning book.
As we celebrate this milestone, there’s no telling what’s in the cards. Honestly, I’m surprised I’m still blogging. I encourage you to check it out. 10 Years of Blogging Wisdom from Cat Wisdom 101 Or Cat Blog Hiatus Or Farewell in the Stars
thank you!
The only thing I can say for sure is that Cat Wisdom 101 wouldn’t have been possible without you all. Your support, engagement, and love for cats has inspired me to keep sharing and exploring, and I look forward to continuing to bring you wisdom, stories, and all things cat-related. Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey, and let’s continue celebrating our feline friends together!
Half-brothers Odin and Otto are now 14 years old!
Odin was born at the beginning of June and was our first Gemini dog. Then we had Nounou, a Gemini, and now we have Otto, a Gemini. We’re not sure exactly when Otto was born, as you know shelters don’t always have birthdays. We settled on 14, but he has all the traits of a Gemini.
The boys are good friends, playing together, wrestling, and hunting chipmunks, and are very polite at mealtimes, but are too independent to be snuggly buddies.
