The two kittens, who shared good times and bad times, had a heartwarming response to the people who saved their lives.

Winston and Miller, the close brother and sister cats, had a difficult life together: just three or four days after they were born, they had already lost some of their nine lives.

Found in a bag and covered in dirt and debris, the kittens were the only survivors of a litter of kittens, and when Foster the Furbabies co-founders Gianna Cirucci and her sister Gab learned of their plight, they quickly stepped up to take them in.

“For the first two weeks, the kittens had to be tube-fed every two hours because they refused to eat on their own,” Janna told LoveMiao.

The precarious situation continued for some time, making it a “very nerve-wracking time” as Gianna worked around the clock to provide the kittens with the best possible care, and prepared for the worst every time she entered the foster room.

She treasured each and every day, making sure the kittens were fed, warm, clean and given the best possible care.

After several vet visits and countless sleepless nights from their foster mother, the two brothers’ condition began to improve and the stomach issues they had been plaguing began to subside.

Gianna did everything she could to ensure that the kittens thrived through this difficult time, and she breathed a sigh of relief when Winston and Miller latched onto their bottles for the first time.

“I knew, or hoped, that my baby was OK around the third week when he started taking the bottle well and no longer needed to be tube-fed.”

Winston, who has polydactylism, grew up to be a loving snuggle bug and his brother was always by his side, right up to his death. Just when Gianna thought everything was going well, life delivered another unexpected turn of events for the kittens.

The kittens were treated for infections and stomach troubles, and later discovered to have calicivirus. “They’ve been through a lot in their short lives.”

Janna never stopped fighting for them, and Winston never stopped purring and kneading with his big gloves whenever he was in her arms.

With the help of a loving foster family and a dedicated veterinary team, the feline brothers overcame many battles and emerged victorious.

They were finally thriving with bright eyes, plenty of energy and a voracious appetite.

“Winston is my sweet boy and he still acts like a baby. As soon as he sees me he runs up to me and asks to be held. He loves to kiss me and press his nose against mine.”

“Miller is a little more independent but he still loves kisses and belly rubs.”

Though small in stature, she has a big personality that lights up a room and a loud engine roar that never stops.

“They love to play with their friends and with each other. They run around the room like crazy, bouncing off the walls and playing with any toys they find. Usually they end up exhausted and taking a nap on my lap.”

“Winston would choose me over food, but Miller would choose food over me.”

These two brothers are inseparable and have been through a lot together, bringing endless joy and entertainment to everyone and always filling the air with their purring sounds.

“I’m so glad that you’ve been there for me through all the good times and the bad. We get along really well and I hope that we can find a home together soon.”
